@soncharm The entire concept of "solving alignment first" depended on a tower of assumptions about the development of future AI technology which have been completely falsified and superseded over the last decade. It makes no sense for current or prospective systems but they just go with it

I think ea as philanthropy has already propagated to much of charity, when i actually run the numbers on a lot of non-ea cause areas advertised they end up within an oom all the ea stuff that's not tail risk related.
this is what i've been saying about how a lot of x-risk plans lead to massive war and even potentially infinite war, the absolute worst case scenario is US-China AI World Police get government capture of all advanced automation technologies resulting in them being used *only* as weapons and commit said alliance to waging eternal automated war on any other nations that attempt to gain parity... a catastrophic s-risk scenario developing from the exact plans put out by x-risk mitigation thinkers, all with no ASI ever involved
