The technical evaluation was carried out in consultation with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). Starship is the spiritual successor to Saturn V.

Bell completes Quebec ground station for upcoming direct-to-device satellite service

The facility is the first of several ground stations designed to extend Bell's existing cellular network by routing data through AST SpaceMobile's low-Earth orbit constellation.

The commercial launch of the service has been delayed from 2026 to early 2027. Bell continues its capital expenditure with more ground stations under construction in Ontario, Alberta and Newfoundland and Labrador.
