This is my favorite argument.

In Hiroshima, roughly 140k people died due to the nuclear bomb out of 350k. That’s 40% of the city.

In Nagasaki, 80k people died out of 263k. That’s 30% of the city.

In Gaza, 73k people have died (according to GHM) out of 2.3 million. That’s about 3% of the population. A substantial percentage of that are terrorists.

So Israel has dropped an amount of bombs on Gaza that exceeds the power of the nuclear bombs we dropped on Japan and yet the death toll is far lower both proportionally and on a raw numbers basis.

How is that possible if Israel is committing genocide? Maybe it’s because they’re not.

I get this is a clever dismissal of the point and all. But it's a fascinating topic. I've just restarted going thru Deconstructing Yourself again from the beginning and the ones from 2017 and 2018 are filled with very performative, and now in hindsight highly manipulated from the elites, "m'good boy" leftist political takes and views that are ultimately contradictory to any solid philosophy, including Buddhism. All of which culminate in the Buddhist/Hindu/Zen/Eastern-thought/etc community here in the west supporting Totalitarian government control from the left side of the Authoritarian spectrum. It's interesting and kind of heart breaking that even very "liberated" people can and are easily manipulated into falling for the false dichotomies forced upon us by the ruling class.

The idea that this guy is being treated as an authority on Christianity is just absurd. He is re-framing what it means to be Christian for his own ends, and it should be obvious.

This guy worked directly with the CIA and an Iran-Contra criminal to privatize the most Orwellian Bush-era surveillance proposal, creating Palantir in the process, wants to tear down representative government and replace it with a private company run by a CEO/dictator, promotes borgifying humanity and frames it as necessary, and funds and helped create numerous companies that help commit genocide and blow children to smithereens. He embodies the opposite of what are ostensibly Christian values. Let him redefine what it means to be "Christian" at your own risk.

Also, no one would even consider calling this guy "Christian," let alone an authority on it, a few decades ago. But now the PayPal mafia bros largely control the digital realms that now dominate public discourse and have successful bought up a legion of podcasters/influencers, so they can make a large segment of the public believe whatever they want I guess.

In today's world, Emperor Palpatine could also probably successfully frame himself as a well-meaning authority on who and who isn't a baddie.
