@mrbakerphysics @NewboldRj @DrGChemistry1 @PaulCaden1 Low grade boundaries mean too many marks were inaccessible. Range of marks will be small. Grade boundaries likely to be close together. Marking tolerance becomes more significant. Grades awarded have more uncertainty.

@MrARobbins @PaulCaden1 Around half of all students getting two thirds or more of the paper wrong. Not a pleasant experience. To prepare students for this internal assessments need to be of a comparable difficulty. A-level Physics becomes an unpleasant experience for a lot of students.

@DJGteaching I’m in a similar position but will take my time investigating other options. Fed up of spending 2 years steeling students for a difficult exam experience. For at least half our students A-level physics is a grind. If changing though would probably have to accept a dip in grades.
