@micaactiongroup
Hi, have MAG had any correspondence from DCC since the emergency meeting on Wednesday regarding the hold up in transferring applications categorised 1,2 & 3? Have they said how many in each category?
@robertburns73@DarraghOBrienTD@Fingalcoco Was the concrete tested for deleterious materials? Wouldn’t be very sustainable if it all needs pulled down in 20 years time.
“I am begging you. Begging you, at this stage. For God’s sake. How can we allow dozens of families, right now, to live in homes that are not fit for human habitation?
How many weeks do I have to come in to this chamber and beg Ministers to intervene?”
This video of @niall_blaney in the Seanad undermining scientific intervention was shared at the end of a week when an international science team visited the devastation defective concrete is causing in Donegal.Happy to meet up & explain why science is key https://t.co/35rZPXQigC
If science was used 10 years ago to investigate we would have found the reason why homes are falling apart, & if the Government had enforced EN 12620 to ensure aggregates were tested for sulphur this wouldn't have happened at all in Donegal. Science is key https://t.co/U0IXFbCmiD
And finally, our science team has not been idle regarding testing foundations. As we speak, our samples are being analysed in world-class research facilities by Dr Andreas Leemann @Empa_CH, Prof Benoit Fournier @universitelaval & Nick Scaglione, Concrete Research & Testing, USA👇
This was such an important international conference. It really highlighted the need for urgent Government action to help families trapped in unsafe homes & the importance of science for understanding the causes of this avoidable crisis. @EDoherty_tweets@mondello25 & @lukeming
Govt Ministers speak of the urgency to fix #mica homes. Reality could not be more different.
Paralysed applications, still no opening date for the revised scheme & families trapped in unsafe homes.
Many thx to the Moss family for their gracious cooperation.
