@MarysMeals For some more background, you can check out our blog on this for further information. As ever, thank you to @AnabelMarsh from Glasgow @womenslibrary for helping to provide an overview of Annie's life and connection to Glasgow on our blog.

Maybe you have heard of Annie Oakley through the 1950 movie, Annie Get Your Gun or have seen her musical? Maybe you didn’t know she was a real person or, if you did, you are wondering what she has to do with Glasgow? Well, here we go... 🧵
There is no memorial to Annie in Glasgow (other than having a Gallus Pedals Bike named after her), but we do have a statue of Buffalo Bill in Dennistoun which we cover as part of our Glasgow Alternative Tour (and here is one of our lovely groups from @MarysMeals) ☺️
We’ll work for five weeks from tomorrow to repair a railway bridge over Culloden Road in Inverness. Pedestrian and cycle access won’t be affected, but vehicles will need to follow a diversionary route. @HighlandCouncil
Delighted to say we now have a complete set of well researched blogs on the Trailblazers who our fleet of bikes are named after - see the thread below!
Happy #InternationalWomensDay (and #WomensHistoryMonth2023). A good time to highlight @galluspedals, a Glasgow cycle tour company which has named all its bikes after historic women. I'm writing mini-bios for the website and will thread below.

@culturaltutor It's a cracker of a building. Really hard not to be impressed by it. Think they supplied some of the rugs and carpets for the Titanic too!
Great morning on the bikes with @clarebalding and @MrsBatho - showcasing some of our favourite spots in Glasgow from the comfort of our reconditioned ex post office bikes!
Of course we're biased but cycling really is the best way to see any city! Lovely to meet you guys!
Delighted to partner with @glasgowlife and deliver tours as part of their #golive for #GlasgowScotland2023! We had a diverse group from Toronto, Paisley, Philadelphia and Kirkintilloch all enjoying exploring Glasgow on 2 wheels! We all managed to make it on to the track too!
Wow - what a morning for a bike tour of Glasgow :) Felt a wee bit nervous about the road closures and my inability to read maps properly, but it all worked out! Knowing where the route crossings are tho is a game changer! #powerofthebike#GlasgowScotland2023#UCI
@is_glasgow@MuralsS Great to see this!
We named one of our fleet after her and thanks to the help of @AnabelMarsh - we tell her story to all put guests from all over the world.
