Smoke density has decreased a meaningful amount for Ottawa, going from a harsh yellow to a bright white. This could help the development of storms this evening. #onstorm #onwx

I was worried for a short time that the smoke fumes from NE Ontario would affect the storms in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario this afternoon into evening but the smoke now seems to be a non-factor for now and shouldn’t really interfere. Stay alert between 4-8pm. #onstorm #onwx

@Unkxnwx @WxOntario1 Not necessarily, In my personal opinion and many other storm chasers i’ve seen are agreeing on the Ottawa Area tommorow evening for significant severe storms with huge hail, damaging winds, and a tornado or two. Stay alert tommorow.

@JaneDohRayMe @BranWx So it’s really now dependant on the timing. If it’s too early/late it’s rain and thunder, if it’s on time we’re looking at tornadoes, large hail, damaging winds and all that fun stuff. The timing varies where you are but stay alert 3-8pm. Hope this helps!

Amazing environment for all of Eastern Ontario tomorrow, something you only see about twice a year for this area. Ottawa and the Smith Falls-Cornwall area I'll be keeping under surveillance. All thunderstorm hazards are possible including one or two tornadoes. #onstorm #onwx

@TheRochelleEF4 @julienalla11333 @stormwx1 Agree to disagree it's really about timing now. The environment for Ottawa Ontario tommorow is something you only really see once or twice a year. I'd say there is a fairly good chance of some impressive suppercells, tornadoes are less likely but the potential is still there.

@DMCstan_ @ConnorMockettWX I wouldn't doubt it and I wouldn't be waiting for it. It's a really significant setup but model disagreements on the timing, and timing is the most important thing when it comes to how much severe energy these storms can tap into. Overall, stay alert.
