@no_me_jodar He missed three overheads in the late stages of the match. 1) a sitter (maybe more of a volley) at set point in the 4th, 2) this one at a break point, 3) match point.
@JC_by_AMS π π π We want our physicians to be healthy. Physicians should not be required to report mental health treatment or diagnoses unless they are actively impaired.
@RevTChristopher Letting these kids get away with this is lose/lose. When they become adults, they will almost certainly end up in prison, after causing more and more harm. There must be consequences.
@scoopmalinowski I thought it was cringe. I think she said it after a previous tournament win, then Nike made it a slogan. She seemed uncomfortable saying it out of obligation to her sponsor during her speech, and the audience was lukewarm.
@DrKrisEdward@BolkonskyAndrey@iatrogenicaware In my experience, many patients on long-term benzos are completely miserable but definitely donβt want to stop the benzo. Many will take an SRI to treat the inevitable anxiety associated with benzo tolerance.
@NormalGayPsych In 2010, I was a Democrat voter. Then the Wisconsin teacher strikes happened. I criticized this online and was viciously attacked by leftists (unfriended, verbal abuse, veiled threats). I havenβt voted Democrat since (although I have voted 3rd party).
@Hopingflower@DrKrisEdward@iatrogenicaware I am on your side. PSSD is not well established in the US (generally not discussed in training, no black box warning). I am advocating for stronger quality evidence so that the message gets out.
@ompsychiatrist Unfortunately there is some truth to this. There is wide variation in prescribing patterns among psychiatrists. For those who are employed, there can be pressure to prescribe in a manner that satisfies the institution, or risk loss of job or bad references.
@DrKrisEdward@BolkonskyAndrey@iatrogenicaware I am aware of this. Sexual side effects while taking SRIβs are well-known and, in my opinion, should generally be reviewed with the patient prior to initiation. Less well-understood is persistence after discontinuation.
@Summer__Crane@manquak1@DrKrisEdward@iatrogenicaware You have a point. I havenβt seen any published case reports about PSSD, but I will look some more. I understand that not all medical reality is in the form of published research. My point is that published evidence is more likely to cause change in general practices.
@hanna_pssd@DrKrisEdward@iatrogenicaware Good point. There is one sentence that PSD may occur in βsome cases.β To be clear: I am on your side. I believe that SRIβs have some therapeutic role but are generally over-prescribed. Thank you for the discussion.
@BasedPsychMD What I see a lot: a patient jumps from doctor to doctor, no shared EMR, patient doesnβt know what they are taking, more meds get piled on, patient probably isnβt taking them correctly, no way to clean this up in 15 min appointment.
@hanna_pssd@DrKrisEdward@iatrogenicaware I am not dismissing the possibility of PSSD. There will need to be more published research to establish PSSD as a risk of SRIβs.
