It's kind of bizarre to me that we isolate people ranked by intelligence from any semblance of the real world until their period of easy mutability is far in the rear mirror.
"You're unusually clever and probably future leadership material. We'll isolate you from any real responsibility or the consequences of your actions until you're 25 or so. Then you'll never understand why the productive economy can't integrate you and your life outcomes are actively frustrating. Good luck achieving financial independence or reproducing."
@iky_fwjett when my grandfather died, the funeral home said they didn't have an existing booking for him (my mum had thought there was). but going through his things we accidentally found the receipt from many decades ago. they apologised but it makes you wonder how many people they screwed
i'm very pro bicycle but they should not be allowed on the footpath and they should not be allowed on the road, and in no way should we give them their own special lane
@dieworkwear hard to wear that many layers in a warmer climate — i've been thinking recently that one reason fitness is taken so seriously here in sydney is because it's so hot that you can't hide your flub under multiple stylish layers for most of the year
@Stormdrain_5 @Brad08414464 two important points: way hotter in aus, which is very relevant obvs for a beach; and there are waves in aus, which make the beach way more fun
@ArpadV2@FischerKing64@WForest1803 i agree - map and territory is a bad one to start with. i did, then didn’t try another for years, until platform, which is a great starter
