@antUachtaran The Celtic story is 100% an exaggeration but the rest stands, same with the AFL in Oz. In Scotland, if you’re talented you play football, if you aren’t (or you’re private-schooled) you play rugby - Ireland and Oz both have this middle ground that takes away from their football
@DanLang12 I think there’s a separate point that Newcastle are simply a small club, like Sheffield Wednesday or Spurs - they simply don’t have the pull the fans think they do
@TheFootyFeed Imagine my shock that yet another referee comes up with plans to revolutionise the game and they’re all “don’t speak back to the ref I’m very sensitive 🥺”
@Piano_Trumpet@McConaughey@FIFAWorldCup Thick as pig shit you silly boy hahaha - the US bitch and moan and then call others “whiny and arrogant” when they call the US out on it. Such a uniquely American take
@totoriscreens@KVanValkenburg The US invested heavily in women’s football because no one else was and they knew they couldn’t compete in even competition. Now just a few countries are trying and the US aren’t the best anymore. The answer is pretty clear - the US aren’t a serious sporting nation
@BenNadeau2@AlphaKaiser_II You pour millions into medal-farming sports like swimming and gymnastics as an ego trip. Sadly not a true sporting nation, and I fear never will be.
@AndresG84@GuillemBalague No longer makes sense? Back in the day you had players like Di Stefano playing for 3 different countries - this has always been the way
@FreedomSoccerT1@JGS_1874 Scotland are pound-for-pound the biggest contributors to the modern world - the fact you don’t know that confirms you are, like most Americans, a fucking moron
@JamesSurowiecki Just give it up mate - such an American attitude to just get rid of things you don’t like because you’re too stupid to understand the rule and why it exists.
