This week I ate at Los Felix in Miami.

I would argue that it’s Miami’s first elite Mexican restaurant. Every dish was phenomenal. They have an in-house Molino where they cook and grind maiz daily to make tortillas from scratch. The dishes are elaborate and have incredible depth of flavor.

They were also awarded a Michelin star. This has been somewhat controversial because it doesn’t have the “look” and “feel” of a Michelin star restaurant. I frankly don’t care and hope that this is the beginning of a trend where the Michelin guide focuses just on the quality of food & wine.

Happy to have a healthy debate on this 😀
