NEW: The College Football Playoff has issued a statement in support of conferences concerning professional athletes returning to college:
"The CFP strongly supports the positions and rules of individual conferences concerning the return to college of athletes with professional draft, contract or roster ties. These conference rules are intended to protect the needs, interests and integrity of the sport. The CFP believes that certain clear rules should be followed so that individual institutions fielding FBS football teams know what will be expected of them, and so that the public can have full confidence in the competitive integrity of the sport. Given the ongoing legal proceedings, we will not have further comments on the matter at this time."
36 players have entered the NFL Draft or the Transfer Portal for Alabama. That makes up 42% of all scholarship spots. Depth will be an issue for the first time in over a decade.

My hot take: You'd have to be freaking nuts to take on being the Alabama coach that follows Nick Saban.
Stay where you are, win, then take the Alabama job after that guy invariably gets run out after three years for not winning 12 games a year.
Dallas Turner’s hit on Jayden Daniels may or may not have been clean… but here’s what I do know, this isn’t the first time he’s gotten a QB out of the game or committed a gnarly penalty on one.
Is Dallas Turner a tough football player, or is he a dirty player?
