@Gabby67877456@VVAWTER@JoyceGulley Equality and diversity is always gonna be a big topic in schools. We have to remember this, no matter what we come from or what we believe we are all human at the end of the day.
@kaayladam@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER We definitely get to see many relationship change throughout this book. I’m glad you pointed out victor and his fathers relationship out of all of them.
@AbbeyD315@VVAWTER@JoyceGulley So great you got so into the book to get the next one! I agree you get involved with the characters and it leaves you wanting more.
@evans_kar@VVAWTER@JoyceGulley We all have life lessons we learn. While are are not the same I agree with you that life is the best teacher. We all grow from what we go through and are able to tell our own stories.
@_Imbrittanys@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER This was such an interesting theory that I hadn’t even thought about! You took time to research and back up what you were thinking was a possibility and it’s definitely a theory I could stand behind!
I enjoyed the sort of imagery in the beginning of chapter 18, when the police were being envisioned based off a tv show that had been watched. Today many people still only look at law enforcement based off of what they see on TV.

@CaitlynHoffman9@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER Many times children repeat anything and everything they hear. So that makes me wonder also. Hopefully that was the case as like you said it can be very enraging to read something in that context.
@EnglertTatum@VVAWTER@JoyceGulley You always have to keep an open mind when it comes to teaching. Many people don’t think of all the life lessons we learn through everyday books like PAPERBOY.
@_Imbrittanys@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER I was debating listening to an audio version of this book instead of just reading and this was a sign I need to haha! I’m sure the book comes to life through audio.
@HarleyShipman@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER This is such a sentinel part to the book. Smiling is one of the easiest things you can do to change someone’s day and I’m glad you pointed out a reminder you never know what someone is going through! This is apparent all throughout the book.
Within chapter 13, it caught my attention and surprised me that Mr. Spiro’s house and Ara T’s shed were being compared the same as frightening. Although completely different, both contain items that propose a challenge it seems.

@hurstthailey@VVAWTER@JoyceGulley The hurt builds up in people and some people take it out in other ways but like you pointed out Mrs.Worthington chooses to use alcohol to hide her hurt
@CaitlynHoffman9@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER I agree when you say you have more time. Sometimes we think before saying and it doesn’t already turn out the best for us. Especially in this book being able to write down before saying seems to shape a lot of the book
@EnglertTatum@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER I had also never thought of this but goes to show there is always more to learn. I also was reading Mr.Vawter’s reply and I think it’s great he was able to give feedback in an alternative way the book could had been!
@Gabby67877456 I liked reading your different views of the character already just when we are starting to read the book. It will be interesting to see how these characters develop throughout and see if any views on characters change
@briiiannabrooks@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER I’m glad you chose to tweet about this, this was an important and sentimental part of the book. This also reminds me how some people use “baby talk” towards their children or talk to them like adults. I believe that aids in speech development which relates to speech impediments
“Muscles” in a sense relates to how people say boys are stronger or have more muscles than girls, but Little Man points out “It’s what you do with them”, which is not typical in a book to make a brief paragraph relating to that.
