🇺🇸 These wagons made the hydrogen to fill the observation balloons in the Civil War.

Balloon gas generators were built at the Washington Navy Yard in 1861. Copper-lined tanks on army wagons. Iron filings, sulfuric acid, and water produced the gas.

The hoses ran it through limewater to strip the acid fumes, then into the balloon. A big balloon took a little over three hours to fill.

Each balloon in the field had its own pair of generators.

From a thousand feet up he could see Confederate camps and the outskirts of Richmond.

The Balloon Corps lasted only two years. It was gone in August 1863 when Lowe resigned.

In a year, Trump brought it down to $2.19/gallon.

Now it is back up to Biden levels, and Democrats are trying to convince us we would have cheaper gas if they were in charge.

The Trump admin has revoked more visas at a faster pace than ANY ADMIN IN HISTORY.

All sides were calling each other heretics, burning their books, holding trials, even killing each other.
The creeds were supposed to establish universal truth; instead, they alienated Rome from Christianity.
