If your brain is wired like mine and you can’t get enough of Celeste you need to drop everything and play the Soda Powered Penguin demo right now! My new most anticipated game!

I think Jason Calacanis might be the single most pathetic human being on the planet. Totally spineless but also too naive to notice. He exists to grovel for power.
@MichaelKiwi77@tracewoodgrains This goes double if they are the only one reporting the story! To be clear, I believe the ATC story referenced here. But if Trace were MAGA, I think it would be right to basically write off this story as so likely false it’s not worth investigating, even though it is in fact true
@MichaelKiwi77@tracewoodgrains If I see you’re into vaccine conspiracies and election denial, it is reasonable for me to either update strongly against your epistemic processes in general or to assume you’re lying. In either case, why take you seriously as a source for a contested claim? Why engage?
@tracewoodgrains Should justices compromise their actual opinions in order to preempt the obvious and foreseeable consequences of their rulings? Maybe. But I’m willing to believe that at least Powell believed what he was writing when he broke the tie.
@tracewoodgrains I think Bakke represents an internally consistent and justifiable perspective (not my perspective) but it created a world where affirmative action being obviously done for historical correction reasons had to play a lot of weird word games to try to look legal (because it wasn’t)
I don’t understand why so many people seem to want the FF7 ReTrilogy to lead into Advent Children. The movie is really bad with one admittedly really cool fight scene at the end. I don’t want the game’s story to be held back by being tethered to this rock.
@emnode@infantrydort@JeffreyGoldberg The implication that Jeffery Goldberg is some kind of America hating communist is also very funny. When he was accidentally given extremely classified info about American military plans, he consulted the DoD, CIA, etc first to be sure he wasn’t endangering any Americans
Scalia died in February 2016. It took Obama a full month to nominate a replacement and then he used no leverage and barely lifted a finger for Garland; the party was more focused in the moment at making sure everyone understood how racist and sexist Bernie Sanders was.
Plenty of Obama aides were actually glad when Dems lost the senate in 2014 because they were sick of Harry Reid pushing Obama to be more assertive and fight more.
They lost the Senate in 2014 largely because of Obama’s capitulation to/obsession with austerity and reducing the deficit.
He constantly insisted he had no real power — Neera will probably respond by saying he had no power — which Trump has proved totally wrong.
And when RBG died in September 2020 Trump nominated ACB the next week. They play to win.
But sure, a 5 minute segment from @chrislhayes would’ve made the difference. (And I’m sure he did do a bunch actually.)
@DerekPederson3@shanewallick Probably shouldn’t be in twitter at work at all but definitely not for long enough to dk the topic justice. If you remind me later though I’ll explain myself
@DerekPederson3@shanewallick I took a philosophy class in college about thought experiments and got extra credit for a series of essay length back and forths with another student in the class about why even tho im pro-choice, I think the violinist thought experiment is silly and wrong.
DOGE has a very obvious feedback mechanism for its cuts.
If DOGE makes a big, broad cut against a million programs, people get upset about a few specific, very good ones like PEPFAR, and then that program comes back because DOGE's members are, thus, informed it was good.
