I genuinely think the standard workday should be 10 a.m.–3 p.m. or 9 a.m.–2 p.m. There’s no reason people should spend the majority of their lives at work. Let people get home with enough time to be with their families, partners, and friends, pursue hobbies, and actually rest. A lot of today’s burnout and unhappiness comes from the fact that work consumes almost all of our waking hours.
I spent like 10% of my last therapy session explaining this scene and the events that caused it to my therapist because it’s such a good representation of how someone can ruin your life and still have the chutzpah to crave your forgiveness for their own sense of atonement/closure
the air quality sucks, the food gives you explosive diarrhea, we have no public transport, medical care is unaffordable, they’re tearing down forests to build AI data centers and I still have to clock in for work

Madame Celeste Amarilla,
apple hit with multiple lawsuits ALLEGEDLY for forcing customers to buy additional cloud storage.
Lord, it’s my time to get paid because that $9.99/month has been a scam.
I feel like Americans always think in excess. The tension of the World Cup comes from the fact that it is every four years and cycles through generations of players. It’s something to wait for and build up to.
one of the reasons to get into cinema (or the history of any art form) is to marvel at the physical lengths people used to go to to realize a vision. I think this will get harder and harder to understand in an AI “art-on-demand” culture. It won’t be intuitive how they did this
it’s so fucking crazy all the time… like one thing after another, so I mostly don’t react to it and let it wash over me. But every once in a while I have these moments of clarity where I’m like damn… what the fuck.
Funny how a 4 day work week gets treated like some impossible fantasy, yet long holiday weekends never seem to break the economy. It’s almost like every weekend should just…be a long weekend?
