Laughing at the comments...I'm so surprised that I don't do so so many 🤣 these days I pay to have my nails painted and eyebrows waxed because I hate all that presentation stuff. I tend to wear my hair down too as I can't 'do it up' nor be arsed learning how to.
I'm currently reading about the rise of these health resorts and I'd imagine living in a city or suburbs makes one really hanker after 'sea air', however living by the seaside I can honestly say murder and scandal isn't something I want to encourage. Solving a missing cat, maybe.
Why can't I find a doctor who will prescribe "sea air" for my nerves so I can spend a summer in a picturesque costal town in England "for my health" only to be caught up in a local scandal and forced to solve a murder???
During my #mtptproject coaching sessions I discovered I filled my time with all manner of stuff to hide from the truth of my situation. For the last year I've done hardly anything - limited CPD, stopped volunteering stuff etc and it's all because I listened and acted. Thank you!
We are currently seeking papers for issue 20 of Impact on the theme of connecting the dots between pedagogy, curriculum and culture. Deadline for submissions is July 14th. Find out more: https://t.co/D0J2eUlEfC
@ImpactWales@quals_wales The reports on the consultation stated that even though feedback had been overwhelmingly negative re proposals, they were pressing ahead regardless. Wales are going it alone and the impact going forward for students and university beyond Wales and the world of work is worrying.
A shout out to #FE people!
I'm looking for where the workforce census is for #FE in relation to teacher retention, reasons for leaving, age groups, workforce level, maternity/paternity etc.

This year of being 40, I've been to the ballet, I've travelled, I've booked concert tickets and I've made sure I've focused on having a good time for me! I spent my 20s too career focused and my 30s just surviving. The rest of my 40s look financially bleak, so this year is fun!
Today's classroom/office temps were impossible. I took my own fan to work with me today and genuinely feel my workplace need to invest in more air conditioning around the building.
@RotaryLlandudno If you are on Facebook, I've already set up a page called Pwllycrochon History where lots of my research is logged (or the bits I can share anyway) https://t.co/FMMLE1TMqT
Started putting together my research on a little known Lady of the local area and were already at 12,000 words and she's still only 40. She lived to 83. Can I make this a phd thesis? I've not even managed to rummage through the Scottish archives yet either!🫨
@RotaryLlandudno Lady Jane Silence Erskine of Pwllycrochan. I've written a Wikipedia article and am working on getting that published first. Hopefully at some point in the near future, I'll be able to look at getting the rest of my research published too.
We are looking to appoint another English teacher for September. We are also interested in applications from primary colleagues. @EnglishWales

I use my 'tools' (I paid for counselling years ago when it was v bad). I do the mindful walks. I roll with it and acknowledge what it is and try to work out the why. Often, I just nap. #joyFE
Anxiety is the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2023
If like me, you live with anxiety, what do you do to keep yourself well?

Having spent hours carefully marking students' work and adding in 'comments' to support my marks for the examiner, the students have now "resolved" these, resulting in what looks like unmarked work 🙅♀️I hate Google docs.
