@G_S_Bhogal I rarely think about such questions, but I have become the person I am through daily interactions and the expectations of others. From my parents, coaches, teachers, books, and my wife, I have grown.
@QuestionTrinity@PLeithart He alone, the Trinitarian God, who is Father, Son and Spirit as among the multitude of gods (elohim) of the ancient world… it was this God who alone, stretched out the heavens
@toottootchoo@Miriam2626@BetoORourke Your logic needs some improvement. People shouldn’t be allowed to swim if when they lose their shit, they can drown others by simply pulling a trigger.
@NancyRPearcey unlikely this is happening, especially for oats cultivated for food. The land may have been sprayed with glyphosate to kill weeds before the oats were planted, but that is a very different thing.

@birdchadlouis I'm sure you are aware how disappointed many Christians are having learned this news. It's like you've ruined their day. They start to distrust the pastor. "Why haven't I heard this before?!" If he continues to tell them such things - no rapture! They eventually ask him to leave.
@DrJimHamilton I have long leaned towards this translation, because our human physicality is made of stardust, and because Genesis begins with the “generations” of the heavens in the earth ge 4:4, climaxing in the creation of humanity. Also, Ro 8:19
@birdchadlouis Wow Chad, you have put so wonderfully in words things that I have struggled in numerous sermons to share with people who have been taught to see the as but a dry place and nothing more. My best efforts pale in comparison to this wonderful 3-D picture of the wilderness
“Masculine power,” “authority,” “war,” “military tanks,” “conquering,” and“winning." This is the imagery and vocabulary of Christian Nationalism—that of a Christian culture war in the name of Jesus Christ.
Yet, little, if anything, is Christian about it

@birdchadlouis I have understood this in the first sense, as the gift of the Spirit given to those who put their trust in Christ - Him taking up residence in the life (heart) of the new believer, whence, Ezekiel‘s Living Water, i. e., new life, then begins to flow from the altar of the heart.
@bennyjohnson Have mercy! Just like Jesus would say or do, right?
What part of "we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers..." do you not understand?
@TimRehmer@carmenjoyimes@Slidegood6 The same logic you use was used to promote the legitimacy of slavery.
If Jesus can command a woman to be the first to announce the greatest news about himself in all of human history to men "brothers," women may clearly preach the good news. Jn 20:17-18
@LauraRbnsn Well, I’m three days late on the convo but if scripture shows us as much as it tells us and I believe it does, the first portrait of marriage is Adam and Eve, the next marriage Cain, one wife, then we encounter the arrogant Lamech who “takes two wives” 5:19. Seems a bit negative
@sometimesalight I was once in a room with a well-known man who has now been discredited. I’ve never thought of myself as a weak, but his was a commanding presence among us. We all revered and respected him. How were we to spot his cowardice weakness and sloth?
@birdchadlouis Chad, I write a blog called The Biblical Imagination on Substack. Can I occasionally share some of your X posts there? I'm thinking of your recent post on the Hebrew 3-tiered cosmos. I was unable to message you directly. Check out the blog at: https://t.co/qEEgOSGxFw
@KaitlynSchiess I bit the bullet, paid the hefty price for the book, and have begun reading. Please share specifics regarding the dynamics you mention or any other reasons you recommend the book.
Wondering how it is possible for Trump to lead in the polls is leading me to investigate CN
