@jxnlco@MichaelArnaldi@jlongster The ability to “Signin with ChatGPT” is low key genius. Only enterprise devs can charge their users raw dog API prices for tokens. If 10-100’s of millions of users already have a paid ChatGPT sub, why not allow piggy-backing/BYOT? (ignoring the ‘GPU go brrrrr’ noises of course).
@NickADobos Stumbled across the same dev loop this week. Def feels like magic - and I remember the eaaaarly magic back when token windows were 1K and you had to copy/paste from the Playground.
It’s all about tightening the feedback loop.
@cohere's new Command A+ passes my totally unscientific OCR test...can it accurately itemize & tally the Boston Bruins 2011 Stanley Cup bar tab...passed with flying carpets.
@bennash Cost isn’t actually the problem when you think about it (tho token subsidies do obfuscate this)..Jt’s the value thing. Revaluing a core unit of the vaue creation process (cognition) messes with all kinda of assumptions.
@bennash A similar thing happened to me last year. Client expectations have not caught up with model capabilities. Whether a billable hour or a salaried hour, the problem is the same…nobody knows what ‘intelligence to cheap to meter’ actually costs (but don’t worry, they have meters).
