If 10-100’s of millions of users already have a paid ChatGPT sub, why not allow piggy-backing/BYOT? (ignoring the ‘GPU go brrrrr’ noises of course).

@bennash Cost isn’t actually the problem when you think about it (tho token subsidies do obfuscate this)..Jt’s the value thing. Revaluing a core unit of the vaue creation process (cognition) messes with all kinda of assumptions.

@bennash A similar thing happened to me last year. Client expectations have not caught up with model capabilities. Whether a billable hour or a salaried hour, the problem is the same…nobody knows what ‘intelligence to cheap to meter’ actually costs (but don’t worry, they have meters).
