Awards for children with SEND & the people who support them; building child-centred team working across education, health & social care; rebranding ability...
Do you love a great story of overcoming and resilience? Education, paediatric health or care professionals in the West Midlands, we’d love you come a celebrate kids and colleagues alike at our Awards in July with @LostVoiceGuy See you there! 🥳
If you’re anything like me and desperate to promote change in understanding and recognition for pupils with SEND in your school then you might like our @GenerationCAN Schools’ Awards! Four years of graft but we’re finally there! Get your resources here https://t.co/p0sWap63Bx
Really looking forward to speaking about our #SENCOSurvey tomorrow at #oeSEND - I love sharing about our work to make the system fairer for all pupils, parents and professionals. Hope you can join me? 🤓
#Worcestershire we’re looking to hire a #wheelchair#ramp for an #event and it’s very expensive - especially adding in delivery charges!! Does anyone know a good place to get one?
I'm looking forward to my first #WomenEd unconference tomorrow - it is definitely going to be worth the 5.30am start, I can tell - so excited! I think a hotel the night before might be a good idea next time though!
So, quick GDPR question... SEN files. Should they move to the new school automatically upon a change of placement? Does there need to be explicit parental permission or is it assumed? Or, should the school keep the file until requested.
What a team we celebrated at the 2019 Awards, but 5 year old Oscar needs us again for life-saving treatment. To donate, text 5OSCAR 5/10/20 to donate £5/£10/£20 plus the cost of a standard rate message. Thank you.
Great article in the @guardian on inclusive tech. My fave line is @hminto (disability inclusion advocate @Microsoft) statement “if you don’t deliberately include, then you unintentionally exclude” - yes!
Dear fellow teachers, pause, take 60secs in your classroom and appreciate the sensory environment. What can you hear, smell, see etc. Now imagine your autistic pupil trying to filter all this out to egage in the lesson. Can you offer (allow) them ear defenders? Do you need those /1
Please RT: (a bit of research)
UK Parents of children with SEND who are no longer educated in a mainstream setting, do you think ‘if things had been different’, your child would be in mainstream now? Thank you. #SEND#Parenting#school
@signsolutionsuk We think it is not just innovative but instrumental in improving the quality of communication between hearing and hard-of-hearing people.
🤩 We’re currently looking for people across #Worcestershirehour and #Herefordshire to help us bring #GenerationCAN 2020 to life. Could that be you?! 😍You can find out more about our #volunteer roles available here: https://t.co/EZuHNNZmJB
