I don‘t really use Twitter since they killed third party clients and Tweetbot stopped working. But I wanted to post this link as I have been having a lot of health issues and could really use some extra income for my apps. Please retweet if you can 🙏 https://t.co/xgRGgEtvwy
I just received an email from the App Store asking for promotional artwork as it may be featured. Great, except:
- I don't own and have never used Photoshop
- I haven't the faintest idea how to "showcase your app's main features"
- I can't afford to pay anyone to do this for me
@MishaScholte Sorry for the slow reply, I don’t use Twitter much now. It should be there, but in some app stores you get loads of other search results first, even when searching for the exact name (which is really annoying). Here’s a link: https://t.co/I7dagT7syr
@mgoetzke Hi Matthias. The tweet you replied to is over 2 years old. If I remember correctly, the bug was fixed in the next version of iOS and I haven’t noticed the problem since then.
The App Store app on my iPhone 12 Pro on iOS 14.6 seems to be eating battery like crazy. Running the 'Activity' instrument it's sat there at ~50%+ constantly! WTF? A quick Google shows lots of people reporting problems. Might have to wipe it and restore from a backup
4 Menubar apps I use every day.

@vermont42 Many thanks. I saw a recent blog post about using a testing app delegate but resisted the urge to mention my own older article and its code which also works with the scene lifecycle. Which was added in iOS 13!
@malhal I’m not aware of there being a SwiftUI API for the small menu elements. Other than widgets I haven’t actually done any SwiftUI, but I think I would have seen somebody post/write/video about it if there were a way. I have not.
I'm not entirely sure where I'd ever want to use it*, but there's a new context menu attribute in iOS 16 which keeps the menu presented when the action is selected (UIMenuElementAttributesKeepsMenuPresented).
* other than in Adaptivity to demonstrate the feature
@coughski@KSlazinski @DanielKasaj I can remember seeing a Mac menu bar app too that shows the different text sizes and uses the actual font for the labels. But I cannot remember where! I thought it might be something @simonbs made, but I couldn't find it in his GitHub or App Store page.
★★★★★ "Just Buy It · absolutely invaluable tool for developers of any Apple platform ... there’s just sooooo many nice things about this tool... this is one of a few dev tools i’m happy and eager to recommend to fellow devs " https://t.co/m6gYxInR4l
@EthanLipnik@emcro I don’t use any SwiftUI in my apps (except widgets) so am not fully up to date on APIs. I haven’t heard anybody mention support for this feature on Twitter, so my guess is it is still UIKit only.
This review for my Adaptivity app brought some much-needed Christmas cheer and is a great explanation of why the app is a must-have for iOS developers 🥳🎄 https://t.co/I7dagT7syr
@seanallen_dev@kkuldar Not sure how many graphs you expect to have but I still like the idea of the segmented control not scrolling. I think (in UIKit at least) you can have a large title and use a segmented control as a custom nav bar titleView. On scrolling, I think the large title just disappears
@vashpan Thanks. You might be right but a quick look at the screenshots shows that the app provides a much more structured way to organise information than the few text fields that the Health app provides. My app allows for image and PDF attachments so it can include much more detail.
The big update to Medical ID Records got 6 downloads on release day and has been averaging one per day ever since. I'm so disheartened by this 😫 Even for a single user, it's a fantastic app for recording detailed medical information. Please have a look; I really need more sales!
My Medical ID Records app got a significant update today to add support for multiple medical IDs. This is invaluable for parents to keep info about their children, or for people with elderly relatives or other dependents. https://t.co/YurXbAaLZd
