Five reasons why the global temperature graph issued yesterday by the @WMO claiming that the last 10 years were the "hottest ever" is entirely bogus:

1. "Average global temperature" has no physical meaning.

2. Nothing approaching credible global temperature coverage existed until the satellite era began in 1979. Satellites don't even measure temperatures. They measure atmospheric brightness, which is then modeled into temperatures. Satellite guesstimates are inferior to surface measurements, which aren't all that accurate either.

3. If the 1,200-or-so NASA global surface temperature stations were evenly located around our 200 million square-mile world, each thermometer would cover surface area equivalent to 167,000 square miles -- an area large than the size of California. Imagine a single thermometer purporting to represent the temperature of California. Absurd.

4. The graph presents no uncertainties in the guesstimates. 96% of the best US temperature stations are not accurate to within 1°C. Stations in foreign countries have worse precision problems. But the WMO pretends to know global temperature exactly -- even when and where no data was collected.

5. Temperature station data are known to be manipulated to fit the climate hoax hypothesis.

A new research paper, written by a team of scholars led by Jessica Weinkle, analyzed 82 peer-reviewed studies on the relationship between [anthropogenic] global warming and the geophysical characteristics (e.g., frequency / distribution, intensity, translation speed, rainfall properties) of hurricanes published between 1994 and 2023.

They found a rather disturbing pattern. 😬

First, not one of the 331 authors distributed between the 82 papers disclosed conflicts of interest (COI) in their financial interests that may be a predictor of the outcome of each study.

However, Weinkle et al. (2025) did find that NGO-funded studies tended to find a positive association between hurricane geophysical characteristics and anthropogenic climate warming. The results were statistically significant (p-value = 0.03) and the effect size was large (odds ratio [OR] = 8.72).

What's more, the NGO grants averaged $1.2 million per study—four times larger than standard academic funding through organizations such as the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Critics of the sounding climate alarm are frequently accused of being bankrolled by the oil industry (and that is true in some cases), but there is never any light cast on research paid for by the renewable energy industries or environmental advocacy groups that are just as equally a COI.

These studies, often nowadays rubberstamped event attribution studies, serve to prop legislation that burdens American taxpayers, places big regulations on industry, and fills the pockets of the NGOs that are bankrolling scientists to publish research to support their activist cause.

In order to create their fake warming trend, @NOAA cools historical temperatures as much as 1.65 degrees, and warms recent temperatures as much as 0.97 degrees. This is not science, but rather a well financed propaganda campaign to mislead the public.
