Minerals on Mars are helping scientists better understand the red planet’s ancient climate. See what they’ve learned from samples collected by NASA’s Curiosity Rover: https://t.co/c6p0Cbwepu
@SciGuySpace My impression is that esa gained notable momentum under Aschbacher, steadily, step by step, ppl hardly recognise. Remember, your poll a yr ago:

@BocaChicaGal You are a real OG who made a difference. Honoured to have met such a grounded being (N's B'day at RR, 9/25 stack b4 Flight2). Thank you for all the effort + commitment 🖖🫶
@planet4589@OrenTirosh In either case, if it's to run beyond 2038-01-19 and uses signed integers --> make sure to assign more than 32-bit (overflow, year 2038 problem)
Lunar eclipse tonight, S of Bonn, Germany. Best part was to see how many parents with children came out and patiently waited to observe!

Nuclear rocket engine for the Moon and Mars
@esa commissioned a study on European nuclear thermal propulsion that would allow for faster missions to the Moon and Mars than currently possible.
@Erdayastronaut Phoebus, based on kiwi☢️, ~early 60ies.
But now I cannot unsee this as the base of the 🔥 Olympic Fire in 2028, sponsored by a local space exploration company 🫣
@AndrewKosmicP I have to admit, 1st time I saw it next to a trailer at @RocketRanchTX I thought the 'acoustic device' were a sort of (music)drum 🥁🪘 🤣
How does it work — reverse speaker (as done with bass drums in studios sometimes)?
We officially used GPS on the Moon!
The LuGRE payload on #BlueGhost acquired & tracked Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals on the Moon! These results suggest that GPS signals could be used by future exploration missions – like @NASAArtemis.

@Erdayastronaut Great work Tim. Just one remark: If you threw the suborbital ball and it fell through the Earth, it'd not have its periapsis at the far side close to CM, but to the side + proceed to same altitude as it started, but at the antipode (after ~42min). But message remains almost same.
