LPs have seen a lot of AI funds.
What they keep telling us is they haven't seen anything quite like this.
At our 2026 AGM, our investors shared on camera what makes @untappedvcLA different. A focused thesis. A community built with purpose. And a room where founders and LPs actually create value together.
@stevenamckean has backed 12-15 other managers. His take: "Untapped is the only one doing community with this level of intent."
That's the standard we hold ourselves to.
Special thanks to Steve Mckean, @NancyParkCasey, Geoff Cubitt, Karthik Seshan, @hamletazarian !

We built decades of HR infrastructure for human workers.
Onboarding. Performance reviews. Skills tracking. Payroll.
Now there's a new category of worker: AI agents and robots.
Who manages them?
@Workday has an Agent System of Record. @salesforce calls it a "digital workforce." But these are incumbents extending existing products.
The purpose-built platforms for managing the machine workforce haven't been founded yet. That's one of the biggest white spaces in technology right now.
At @untappedvcLA we're actively looking for founders building agent performance monitoring, skills registries, mixed workforce orchestration, or outcome-based billing for AI labor.
If that's you - I want to talk.

@theallinpod@DavidSacks@Jason@chamath@friedberg One of the best opening dinners I've been to. The caliber of conversation was something else. Looking forward to what the rest of the week brings!
Not every AI company is an Autonomous Economy company.
The litmus test we use at @UntappedVC : if this product disappeared tomorrow, could humans easily resume the work manually?
If yes, copilot. Useful, but replaceable. If no, AE native.
Copilots get commoditized with every model update. AE native companies create structural dependencies that are very hard to unwind.
If you're a founder, test your company against this. It will change how you see the AI landscape.

The biggest opportunity in the AI agent revolution isn't in the agents.
It's in the infrastructure that makes them trustworthy.
87% of enterprises lack AI security frameworks. 1 in 5 has mature agent governance. 45% still use shared API keys.
Most enterprises deploying autonomous agents can't answer one basic question: who authorized this agent to take this action?
Identity. Permissions. Audit trails. Kill switches.
This is the Autonomy Control Plane - the trust layer of the Autonomous Economy. The companies that build it don't just enable the AE. They become the choke points it runs through.
That's exactly where we're investing. Full thesis in replies.
Three phases of how AI changes the economy.
Phase 1 - Human IN the loop: The AI assists. Already behind us.
Phase 2 - Human ON the loop: Agents execute while you supervise. Alejandro runs 14 Claude Code agents. Hamlet runs 15–20. That's like having 20 employees working around the clock.
Phase 3 - Human OFF the loop: The agents understand the goals. They build, deploy, iterate, and report back. The human sets the mission. The system runs the operation.
Phase 3 is the Autonomous Economy. The infrastructure to make it work is the biggest investment opportunity of the next decade.

Most AI coverage still hasn't caught up to what's actually shifting.
On May 28, I'm hosting a live webinar to share my read on it directly.

1900: One car among a street full of horses.
1913: One horse. The rest are cars.
Thirteen years. A complete economic transformation. And back then, things moved slowly.
Waymo: 14M autonomous rides in under 2 years. AI agents: 88% enterprise adoption in 3 years. Hyperscalers: $600B on AI infrastructure this year alone.
We're living through a 1900 to 1913 moment right now.
The question isn't whether the Autonomous Economy is coming. The question is whether you're building the infrastructure it runs on.
