The government set July this year as the target for first oil. The Kingfisher Development Area (KFDA) operated by CNOOC, will produce 40,000 barrels of crude oil per day during peak production and so far 18 wells out of the 31 have been drilled https://t.co/LiZSa6utl0

We’ve completed another set of TotalEnergies Professeurs Associés (TPA) programme courses conducted at @Makerere. Through sessions delivered by retired and active @TotalEnergies professionals and international professors, students have gained industry‑relevant insights that enhance classroom learning and sharpen technical competence.

At peak production of around 230,000 barrels per day, Uganda’s discovered oil is expected to last 25–30 years, depending on future discoveries and careful production planning. #PAUAt10#UGOilJourney

The second cohort of 56 Ugandan technicians graduate from advanced international oil and gas training at INSTEP (Malaysia), marking a major step in strengthening national capabilities for Uganda’s oil and gas sector.
This cohort will proceed to France for the final 5‑week segment before being deployed to participate in the operational activities of the #TilengaProject.

The release of examination results is not news. It should be normal for every learner to sit an exam or undertake an assessment. Yet here, we become overly excited about a national exam for a 12 or 13-year-old, while at the same time worrying that they might fail.
But who declares a 13-year-old a failure?

@ntvuganda
Yesterday, when I rode in an Über, I encountered a very spiritual moment.
The driver was a young man, jovial and radiating positivity, despite the slow economic environment affecting Über's business.
In the passenger's pouch was a Holy Bible, and I asked him why he was keeping it there.
This is what he told me,
"A month ago, I buried my Father, and this scripture has been my father's voice.
When I wake up in the morning, I read a chapter, and when I return home to my wife and daughter, I read another chapter.
If an Über driver arrives home safely, it is by grace because what we encounter on these roads can be disheartening and heartbreaking.
The scripture has helped me heal from the loss of my Father because every time I read, the scripture echoes my father's voice."
I asked him if he is born-again, and he answered,
"I am not born-again, I am just in sync with my spirituality.
I don't have to be born-again.
My father used to get disappointed when someone introduced themselves as "I am so and so, and I am born-again."
The people who tell us that they are born-again are actually using Christianity to commit sin and immorality.
Your behaviour, habits, words and actions are enough to prove that you are a righteous man living in accordance with spiritual sincerity.
You don't have to tell us because the tongue is deceitful, but the heart is sincere."
I was satisfied with his sentiments.
It was inspirational and memorable.
May all those looking for a spiritual anchor find peace in their lives.
Life is chaotic, unfulfilling, and filled with envy and corruption.
May your lives be inspired with joy and buoyancy.
May your prayers and dreams become fruitful.
Amen!

@senelvis@UgandaCranes Waiting to eagerly watch my favourite show #ntvomumuli gwemizanyo today. Was glad to meet you Elvis yesterday at Nambole. Can't wait to meet Denis Bosa and David Lumansi some day.
Success is determined not by whether or not you face obstacles , but by your reaction to them,
And if you look at these obstacles as a containing fence, they become your excuse for failure, if you look at them as a hurdle, each one strengthens you for the next.
From the rainforests of the Congo Basin to Nigeria’s oil fields, Ghana’s gold reserves, Tanzania’s rare earth minerals, and the cobalt riches of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa is abundantly endowed with natural resources. Yet, the continent remains mired in poverty. Why does a land so rich remain so poor? This was the central question I attempted to address while closing the 3rd African Regional Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Emerging Global Challenges at the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel in Entebbe yesterday.
Africa holds 60% of the world’s arable land; yet, when war erupted in Europe between Russia and Ukraine, our continent faced food shortages. We earn little from our minerals because they are extracted and exported in raw form, without local value addition that could create jobs and wealth at home.
I challenged my fellow parliamentarians: it’s time we stopped blaming colonialists more than half a century after independence. We may not be responsible for our past, but we are entirely responsible for our future. We can no longer hide behind the excuse of colonial history.
As leaders, we must work hard every day and work together to reclaim what history denied us: full economic independence and control over our natural resources. Encouraging examples like Botswana and Ghana show that, with transparency and effective mineral management, transformation is possible.
I'm glad our President @KagutaMuseveni has made it clear that no minerals will leave Uganda in raw form. This will enable us as a country to get a fair share. Next is to ensure that funds from these natural resources are ring-fenced for specific services, especially infrastructure development, schools, and health facilities starting with communities where these minerals are extracted.
@TotalEnergiesUG Thanks @TotalEnergiesUG for such great initiatives. Indeed many have been beneficiaries.
However, these are restricted to only residents of those few districts. Would you also consider a scholarship scheme that can benefit the A level students from other regions as well?
@ntvuganda I don't understand why the University has to wait for students to first go on strike before they can release their allowances. Some of those students depend on those allowances to survive, we see cases of students die of hunger. That's ridiculous
