A bit of a longer post today, but an important one.

DOVA-SYNDROME will become OpenTracks on September 15, 2026.

This change includes both our service name and website URL.

New name: OpenTracks

As we prepare to bring our free BGM platform to more creators around the world, we identified two challenges with the DOVA-SYNDROME name: trademark-related issues that make it difficult to use the name reliably over the long term, and the fact that the name does not clearly communicate that we are a music platform.

We have a strong attachment to the DOVA-SYNDROME name, but we decided to make this change before fully expanding internationally so we can build the service under a name that can grow with us for years to come.

There will be no major changes to how you use the service. All of our music and sound effects will remain free to use under our license.

From September 15, visits to https://t.co/522bmryyp8 will automatically redirect to the corresponding pages on OpenTracks. Existing links to tracks and composer profiles will continue to work, including links already used in video descriptions, bookmarks, or websites.

The community’s solution is simple and effective:
a placeholder APK with an absurdly high version number (2,000,000,000).

Once installed, Google can no longer overwrite it.

#StopKillingGames and #StopKillingInternet signed a letter against the UK govt blocking VPNs, and we SUCCEEDED!

We're proud to stand with @mozilla, @ProtonPrivacy, Reporters Without Borders, @amnesty, and major VPN providers to achieve this major victory

We also held our first major #StopKillingInternet partner meetup, with experts from around the world (see attached images)

This builds on the letter we signed back in May against the Online Safety Act with Mozilla and others. We signed because internet restrictions and software age checks threaten independent software, Linux ecosystems, modding, private servers, and ultimately game preservation by making end-of-life plans for games far more difficult. It also allows for lobbying groups such as the ESA to further lie and gaslight against us. They want to make their faulty reasoning into legal reality.
