@RonDeSantis Of course the main question is whether the cosmetic fix will address the systemic problems that the Reflecting Pool suffers from. The earlier work by other Administrations addressed those but it’s unclear whether there are Underlying topograp issue s that defeat those.
@SJETFB@BishopBarron True. Taken with the Encyclical released last month, it seriously challenges much of what Bishop Barron currently allies himself with.
@realJoelFischer@acnewsitics Yes. How many people live in the red areas versus how many people live in the blue areas? You seem to be both understanding the facts while missing the point.
@mvenuti1980 I think it is a huge leap to immediately posit a supernatural explanation for an unexplained observed physical phenomenon. Msgr. Rossetti should know better. The temptations of Satan are much more subtle and dangerous.
@MLJHaynes But in word and action, the Society is defying the authority of the Pope. It is already in schism. Under the guise of preserving the Tridentine Mass, it seeks to substitute its own teachings for those in the Magisterium as set forth in Catechism of the Catholic Church.
@SenFettermanPA@IDF How many noncombatant civilians were killed or injured in this attack? Israel’s actions thus far have shown little concern to protect civilians.
@BasedMikeLee Mike, as a member of the LDS, I’m doubtful that your grasp of the Bible is authoritative. The Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, and Doctrine and Covenants hold higher authority for you than the Bible, which the Church teaches has been incorrectly translated and interpreted.
@SenTuberville Senator, shouldn’t our greater allegiance be toward God? Our President’s demand for unconditional loyalty bordering on worship complete with golden images is idolatry. He disdains the poor and the alien. The Bible clearly tells us the fate of nations that make that choice.
@ilJefeReardono@PrayTheRosary About one hundred & fifty years ago a group of bishops rejected Papal authority & walked out of the first Vatican Council, forming the Old Catholic Church movement which splintered, spawning groups that espouse very liberal theology. I see that to be path the SSPX is on.
@foxnewspolitics I wonder if Bishop Barron has read the anti-Catholic comments being made in this thread. Does he think his presence and endorsement of this event will change any hearts and minds.
@StephenG4242@PrayTheRosary If they go through with the ordination of bishops without Papal approval excommunication of the consecrators and the consecrated is automatic because of schism (denial of Papal authority). Priests would be automatically excommunicated as schismatics if they remain in the SSPX.
@FaithMoves40@PrayTheRosary If they consecrate bishops without the approval of the Holy See they will become schismatic by the standard and historical definition of the term.
@ilJefeReardono@PrayTheRosary The fact that you refer to the duly elected Pope as a heretic indicates that you are a schismatic by all definitions of the term.
@hiswillourpeace@MLJHaynes I don’t think so. The SSPX has shown itself to be disobedient to the Successor of St. Peter. It is on a trajectory toward Protestantism.
@timelessfaithh But their actions are a renunciation of the core beliefs of the Catholic faith regarding the office and authority of the Pope and the guidance of the Holy Spirit over Ecumenical Councils.
