You have set today an example of what every person should keep striving for, throughout their lives: reaching important milestones. Always keep sight of the things, the necessary efforts, that will get you there.” - First Lady Mrs Jeannette Kagame addressing the @GHA_rwanda Graduate Class of 2025 ‘Intangarugero’ | Kigali, 31 May 2025

President Kagame joined over 2000 Rwandan youth for the “Walk to Remember” from Gasabo District Headquarters to BK Arena, at the start of the 100-day commemoration period #Kwibuka31. President Kagame also participated in the candle lighting ceremony, which kicked off the Night Vigil, featuring testimony and musical performances in honour of the victims and survivors the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
“The truth is no longer respected. One day, a friend of mine asked me a question. He said, ‘But you, as a person, how do you live?’ Some of what he said was in a foreign language, and I’ll say it the same way:
He asked me: ‘How do you live, carrying both the dark past and the cruel present? How do you manage that?’
But the way I understood it, he wasn’t just asking me as an individual, he was asking about Rwanda. He was asking: ‘How does Rwanda survive with such a dark past and such a cruel present?’
What I told him was this: From the beginning, we were never under any illusion that the two - our dark past and our cruel present - are separate. They are siblings. And we have to deal with them as such.
We must face the cruel present knowing fully well that it is deeply connected to our dark past. They cannot be separated.
So, for us, there is a choice to make: Either we are crushed between the two and cease to exist, or we stand up and fight.” President Kagame | #Kwibuka31
My deepest gratitude to you, Your Excellency @PaulKagame, for the opportunity to serve as the @CentralBankRw Governor for the past 12 years. It has been an honour to contribute to the stability of our country’s economy and financial sector under your guidance and leadership.
Stop complaining over situations but rather seek wisdom & understanding

17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him
"Some battles are just for understanding."
Is Rwanda too ambitious? Punching above its weight? In response to those who argue that the country is too small to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix, president Kagame said: "We are not too small for anything. That’s our belief. We believe in what we can do."

Dr Carmen has not only been a mentor, a friend, but very resourceful. Her passion and enthusiasm on quality service especially Tourism and Hospitality has birthed many many businesses and changed narrative on how the industry was perceived. May your good deeds follow you. RIEP
I am profoundly heartbroken by the passing of Dr @CarmenNibigira; a champion of the tourism and hospitality industry in East Africa. Her unwavering commitment helped countless institutions understand the unique needs of this sector and inspired the entire ecosystem to better support those in the business.
On a personal level, I will always cherish the challenges she posed to me. Her bold questions about how our organization could uplift local MSMEs AKA #MadeInRwanda pushed me to think deeper and strive harder. Dr. Carmen was a powerhouse of knowledge, compassion, and determination.
May she find eternal peace, knowing she has left an indelible mark on this industry and the countless lives she touched along the way. ✨💛
Yesterday, we finished the week on a high as @ceo_imbankrw extended heartfelt gratitude to our business team and all supporting teams for earning us the Best SME Bank in Rwanda 2024 award by @GBAFReview. We are keeping the momentum going because this is exactly where we belong!
