@Helen_J_Meek@JonMcNestrie Because tactical choices here may influence outcomes. "We could finish this one today and get value for it, even though it's lower on our list"
@Helen_J_Meek@JonMcNestrie We limit the number of times that we are allowed to change WIP limits to 3 to avoid constant tampering ร la Deming (The New Economics, ch 9)
@paltman @ksola_albino @lki_dja As @lki_dja says it's a simulation, a training tool used for teaching Kanban by doing. I named it poorly, should have listened to @lki_dja 5 years ago and called it a simulation :-)
@danvacanti @marcoXbresciani @t_magennis "Cumulative" is a red herring in the discussion about whether the chart can be viewed as a stacked area chart or not. Of course the values tracked are cumulative, no argument there.
@danvacanti @marcoXbresciani @t_magennis But this discussion is getting nit-picky. To @t_magennis original post, a line chart in which the data for the lines are WIP counts for each state (or goup of states) gives better visibility of WIP trends than a CFD, which is valuable.
