@ShinMarginalScr At heart, he didn't want to do the work of leading a new party, but he was forced to by the opportunists surrounding him. It's the only way they can keep their jobs.
@ShinMarginalScr Same reason he had to be dragged to run as an independent. He is somewhere between useless and actively negative as a political operative, shown very much by his chronic indecisiveness, poor judgement of character and inability to self-reflect.
@RPhupa @OllieVargas79 Haddad did pretty well given the circumstances too. The PT vote held up well in the Northeast by historical standards. The election was only lost because he got blown out in the Southeast metro areas which were trending away since Lava Jato.
@RPhupa @OllieVargas79 It's so stupid because he could never have been a candidate anyway. He was constitutionally ineligible. Not like Lula, who was taken out of the election based on sham charges.
@OllieVargas79 @RPhupa Arce faction definitely shares blame, but Andronico didn't kick Evo out of MAS. He had his own candidacy separate from MAS. Evo should have compromised and endorsed him.
BREAKING: 🇧🇴 Neoliberal candidate Rodrigo Paz has come 1st in Bolivia's presidential elections. Without Evo Morales, the left has collapsed. The MAS party expelled him and now has just 3.2%.
After 20 years of hegemony, the left has lost power. How did it all go so wrong? 🧵
@syforlondon@MuktiPill Hell, even if the Corbyn party was blessed by the good lord himself and won a landslide majority, he'd still be writing petitions to the ashes of the Labour Party. This is your brain on labourism.
In light of the public statement made by U.S. President Donald Trump on social media on the afternoon of Wednesday (9), it is important to highlight the following:
Brazil is a sovereign nation with independent institutions and will not accept any form of tutelage.
The judicial proceedings against those responsible for planning the coup d'état fall exclusively under the jurisdiction of Brazil´s Judicial Branch and, as such, are not subject to any interference or threats that could compromise the independence of national institutions.
In the context of digital platforms, Brazilian society rejects hateful content, racism, child pornography, scams, fraud, and speeches against human rights and democratic freedom.
In Brazil, freedom of expression must not be confused with aggression or violent practices. All companies—whether domestic or foreign—must comply with Brazilian law in order to operate within our territory.
The claim regarding a U.S. trade deficit in its commercial relationship with Brazil is inaccurate. Statistics from the U.S. government itself show a surplus of $410 billion in the trade of goods and services with Brazil over the past 15 years.
Therefore, any unilateral tariff increases will be addressed in accordance with Brazil's Economic Reciprocity Law.
Sovereignty, respect and the unwavering defense of the interests of the Brazilian people are the values that guide our relationship with the world.
@syforlondon She's the labour minister in his government and won the 'left' primary off the back of the minimum wage increase and labour reform, which were pretty tepid tbh. She's part of the Communist Party but is barely socdem.
Israel is foreign aid, but for Conservatives.
“We should put this country first, not other places…”
“Like Israel? Because that’s all I’ve heard about for days….”
70% of Tory MPs were members of Conservative Friends of Israel before 2024.
Be friends of your constituents!
Anyone who wants to take on the Tories, Reform and this failing Labour government is a friend of mine.
Looking forward to seeing what this looks like in practice.
Today, after 14 years, I’m resigning from the Labour Party.
Jeremy Corbyn and I will co-lead the founding of a new party, with other Independent MPs, campaigners and activists across the country.

Did you know two parties can nominate the same candidate under electoral law? it's called a "joint description" and means that both parties are listed on the ballot as backing a particular candidate.
Rather than standing down, Greens could co-nominate Andrew Feinstein there. 👆
