أجرى سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان، نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية، اتصالاً هاتفياً مع معالي ماركو روبيو، وزير خارجية الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، جرى خلاله بحث مجمل التطورات الإقليمية الراهنة إضافة إلى العلاقات الاستراتيجية بين البلدين.

وبحث سموه مع وزير الخارجية الأمريكي التطوّرات المأساوية في الحرب الأهلية في السودان ، وأهمية التوصل إلى وقف فوري غير مشروط لإطلاق النار، والعمل على إيصال المساعدات الإنسانية إلى المدنيين دون عوائق.
ورحب سموه بتصريحات فخامة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب، الداعية إلى وقف الاعتداءات المروعة التي تُرتكب بحق المدنيين خلال الحرب الأهلية المستمرة منذ أكثر من عامين، وكذلك بقيادته الجهود الرامية إلى تحقيق الاستقرار في السودان.
