राज्य चरम प्रतिशोधी भएर दुबै जनामाथि राज्यद्रोहसहित भयानक ४/४ वटा मुद्दा लगायो। अदालत लैजाँदा हतकडी र थुनुवा टिसर्ट लगाइदिइन्थ्यो। नमस्कार फर्काउन समेत नदिइ हात झट्कारिदिन्थे प्रहरी। खुसुक्क हामीसँग भन्थे, "हाम्रो मन कहाँ छ र? माथिको आदेश नै निकै कडा छ हजुर। हामी त जागिरे, आदेश पालक न पऱ्यौँ।"

राज्य कसरी यतिधेरै प्रतिशोधी हुन सक्छ भनेर हामी पार्टीका ३ जना सिनियर नेता गृहमन्त्री रमेश लेखकलाई भेटेर कुरा राख्न गयौँ। सुरूमा राम्रै आतिथ्य संस्कार देखाउँदै चिया कफि मगाए। सञ्चो विसञ्चो सोधे।

हामीले काँग्रेसजस्तो प्रजातान्त्रिक पार्टीको नेताले गृह प्रशासन हाँकेको बेला संस्थापक नेता बीपी कोइरालाले आजीवन र अविचलित अङ्गालेकै वैचारिक पथमा रहेका, व्यक्तिगत ट्रयाक रेकर्ड पनि असल रहेका मिश्र र राणामाथिको चरम ज्यादतिपूर्ण ब्यवहार धेरै कोणबाट असङ्गत रहेको कुरा राख्यौँ। धवल जी क्यान्सर पीडित रहेको अनि रवीन्द्र जी की डिमेन्सिया पीडित आमाको स्वास्थ्य पनि खस्किएको कुरा राख्यौँ। उनिहरूलाई बाहिरै बस्न दिएर राज्यले स्वतन्त्र छानवीन आयोग गठन गरी यदि कसूरदार देखिए तदनुरूप कारवाही गर्नु उचित हुने हाम्रो सुझाव थियो।

सबै सुनिसकेपछि मन्त्री लेखकले एकैछिन हामी सबैको आँखामा पालैपालो आँखा जुधाएर मौन संवाद गरे। एकैछिन भुईँतिर घोरिएर टाउको उठाइ कुटिल मुस्कान दिँदै उपदेशको शैलीमा भने, "मेरो पनि आमालाई त्यस्तै स्वास्थ्य समस्या छ। कति कठिन हुन्छ मलाई थाहा छ। तर नि नेताज्यूहरू, राजनीतिक मुद्दा बोकेपछि अलि कठिन समयका लागि पनि तयार हुनुपर्छ क्या। नेतृत्व गर्छु भन्नेले अरूले गरेको कसुरको जिम्मेवारी पनि लिनुपर्छ। बीपीले पनि कुनै बेला आफूले नगरेको कसुरको जिम्मेवारी लिनुभएको थियो। मिश्र जी र राणा जीप्रति मेरो सहानुभूति छ। तर, यसमा के छानविन आयोगको जरूरी होला र? अब जे गर्छ अदालतले नै गर्छ। बिचैमा केही हुने भएछ भने म खबर गर्छु नि।"

त्यति भनेर उनले फेरी उही कुटिल मुस्कान हामीतिर फ्याँके। शारिरिक हाउभाउ हेर्दा इतर विचारधारी नेताहरूलाई हतकडी लगाएर थुनाउन पाएको, अनि अरू केही नेता उनको अफिससम्म त्यसरी आएकोमा उनि बडो रोमाञ्चित थिए र भित्रभित्रै गर्वानुभूति गर्दै थिए।

विगतमा मिडियामा हुँदा आफूसँगको पटक पटकको संवाद र संसदमा प्रस्तुतिका आधारमा मेरो नजरमा बनेको उनको शालिन, ब्यवहारिक र प्रजातान्त्रिक नेताको छवि त्यहीँ मन्त्रालयको कोठाभित्र खल्यातखुलुत भयो।

चैत १५ को घटनामा त उनलाई मिडियाको ठूलै साथ मिल्यो। तर त्यसैबाट हौसिएर भदौ २३ को जेन जी प्रदर्शनमा गरेको चरम दमनका लागि भने छानविन आयोगको प्रतिवेदन अनुसार उनि पनि पक्राऊ परेका छन्।

सरकारलाई अनुरोध छ: उनिमाथि (र कसैमाथि पनि) नियन्त्रणमा राखिएको स्थानमा प्रतिशोधपूर्ण ब्यवहार नगरियोस्। थप अनुसन्धान र अभियोजन यथार्थमा आधारित होस्। रमेश लेखक जी लाई आज भन्दा ठिक १ बर्ष अगाडीको तीनकुने घटना र त्यसपश्चातको आफ्नो रवैया र भूमिकाबारे Self reflect गर्ने ठूलै शक्ति मिलोस्।
