@philadlam At least it's a match between decent teams. Sweden v Tunisia on 4am monday is gonna be what really separates the real World Cup watchers and the employed.
@mppockrus@iwasmmueller88 Otherwise it's a pretty boring but inoffensive shallow bowl like the other 500 stadiums Americans have spent the past couple days hyping up, so there's not much else to have an opinion on.
@Kosmo_Ken@iwasmmueller88 That's not the issue. It's that a club in a mostly English-speaking republic using the Spanish word for royal as part of their visual identity is incredibly cringe, and since they decided to add it to the seats, that also impacts the stadium's look.
@mppockrus@iwasmmueller88 Do you see the white seats on the stand opposite the camera? The ones that spell out "Real Salt Lake"? That's what it has to do with the aesthetics of the stadium.
@vogelsang_andy@BishopMota7272@d00gs They probably will. With the next WC having the 100 year aniversary matches in South America in additon to the main hosts, and then 2034 being in Saudi, CONCACAF and OFC will be the only confederations that haven't hosted a match in the past 2 World Cups for 2038.
@okraburner@mickeyhynes@RhysCarefree Yeah, I'm sure there's genuine passion in the US, because sports fandom is built on pretty universal human impulses and you guys aren't aliens or anything, but people keep using the weird team-organised stuff as evidence instead of anything organic.
@drewlevin@deedeedarkmoon@xFSN_Saber The aegis system does create a kind of unfortunate incentive in situations like this. I like aegis as a concept and maybe there's no good solution to this, but I hope Riot is open to continue working on the system if this becomes common.
@suchnerve In a strictly theoretical constitutional sense, perhaps, but by that standard, Switzerland is basically 26 countries, which is an obviously silly thing to believe.
@MelonTeee@sanji_joestar Depending on what Sanji's offscreen conversation with Gaban tunes out to have been about, that might also be what causes the "zoro and sanji split the sky during an incredibly stupid argument" gag I've been waiting for since Zoro was confirmed to have conqueror's haki.
@Zwiebelfee Like, I get the appeal of Nami adopting an orphan and carrying on Bellmere's legacy, or Luffy having an apprentice to pass the straw hat onto, but, that was never what Kuma and Bonney's arc was leading towards. It would just turn her into a plot point for another character.
@Zwiebelfee Imagine if Saturn kills Kuma and Luffy's just like "hey, I know you just watched your dad get killed, but do you wanna join the crew of the guy your dad hyped up as the saviour of world? Obviously he was wrong about that since I totally failed, but like, it could be fun"
@Zwiebelfee Yeah, it would only make sense if Kuma died on Egghead, and that would've undercut the entire purpose of the flashback. Kuma and Bonney's tragic pasts and their unrelenting faith are there to serve as a miniature for how Nika's return is a turning point for the world as a whole.
@that_kind_oforc Fuck it. Make TLT as obnoxiously Thrall-heavy as 16 years of revisionism has made people think Cata was. Xal'atath kills the worldsoul and Thrall (buffed by Vol'jin, loa of the Horde) ressurects Azeroth after 2v1ing Xal'atath and Iridikron.
@SnowHareAD Oh for sure, there would absolutely be tensions, but I'd imagine that, if anything, the average sin'dorei would be more supportive of peace than the leadership. Getting Lor'themar and Halduron on board should be harder for Liadrin than popular support imo
@tentakvlt They had to do elf unification first, so that Arator can represent the united elves in the troll unification story, before getting Vol'jin's blessing to become Emperor of the Trolls.
