@WystanTBS How do you reconcile the tension (?) between the principle/reality of conception shaping perception, on the one hand, and awakening as a clearing away of obscuration to reveal Things As They Are, on the other? Is the latter not still a series of conception-perceptions?

if there's no lucidity, dreams are taken to be the final reality of the situation

with lucidity, the dream is seen as dream, and reactions that stem from taking the dream as real, cease

graveness is replaced with lightness

@PoemsWeBurned @KennethFolk Regardless of the intention, the effect is that dharma teachers charging such fees ARE choosing to only serve the wealthy, at least in their private teaching. Irrespective of any opinion about doing so, that’s a fact, and one I hope such teachers don’t delude themselves about.

@nicoscosc A special book. A touch underrated in his catalogue. Ever the encyclopedic polymath but with deeper soulfulness than in his work as a younger man. Illuminating and disturbing historical resonances of its era with our own too. I love how explicit the politics are in this one too.
