Let's talk about delayed internship placement of medical interns. The govt, through the MoH, refused to hire & pay medical interns as per CBA 2017.
The proposed budget aim is to slash pay by 71-90%. Treasury also wants us to do unpaid internship. Hujuma!

Nursing Interns Abandoned in The Shadows of Broken Healthcare System
Nursing Officer Interns across Kenya are demanding recognition and fair treatment amidst what they describe as neglect and undervaluation by the Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN).
Some of them who have reached out to me say that despite their invaluable contribution to the healthcare system, they still find themselves on the sidelines of the conversation which has been overshadowed by the focus on Medical Officer Interns.
Attempt to engage KNUN have yielded minimal results which has left Nursing Officer interns feeling marginalized and overlooked.
They insist that current stipends offered during internships fall drastically short of recognizing the immense value of their services.
Recent negative remarks by Health CS Susan Namhumicha during her appearance on a local media station have only worsened their discontent.
She confirmed the unsettling really that even at the highest echelons of government the vital role of interns is disregarded yet they constitute 30% of the healthcare workforce.
Doctors in this country have suffered,Some like Mogusu paid the ultimate price! This year alone we have lost 4 young drs to suicide due to frustrations by the employers,May their lives be the last that we lose!In this strike we are ready to LOOSE EVERYTHING TO GAIN EVERYTHING! @MOH_Kenya@KenyaGovernors
The international media have picked up the signals and the doctors' strike is now a global news item. Won't be long before Ruto is forced to shuffle his cards, and we will be there no matter what.
