PhD defense + thesis submission done! 🥳 Thanks to my fantastic committee: @ColginLab, @markbrandonlab, @sylvain_baillet, Stuart Threnholm and, my supervisor, @apeyrache ⚡ and all the people that motivated me in this process, including the amazing Canadian neuroscience community
Excited to share the sequel to our 2022 paper! In this follow-up, we show that the stable head direction (HD) signals we reported in blind mice rely on stereo olfaction—that is, the comparison of odor info. between the two nostrils.

Hello friends! Defending my PhD thesis tomorrow at 15:00 (EST) 🎉. Key insight: thalamic HD signals help organize MEC activity across states🔥 Check out my presentation here: https://t.co/WXRN1MUmg9 It'll be a quick walkthrough of the main highlights of my work. #PhDLife#ajúa
🥳Super pumped to share our latest collaboration with @EmilieMaceLab and Stuart Trenholm.
We show how visual objects specifically recruit neurons in the spatial navigation system, especially in the head-direction network, suggesting a specific circuit to detect landmarks 1/
Is the MEC activity orchestrated by a thalamic input? (mysterious mystery) Come check my poster tomorrow morning 09/Oct to discuss it. V30. I would love to hear your thoughts! 🙂 #SfN24
Monday am, 190.20 / V30: 🗺️🧭😴 Consistent coordination between medial entorhinal cortex and thalamic head direction cells during wake and sleep. @gilberto_vite asks an important: what if the MEC activity was orchestrated (in part) by thalamic inputs?
Let's have a chat about the navigation system of the brain, attractor dynamics, sleep or anything that excites you about the brain 🧠 Send me a DM to meet up! ☕ 🙂
#neuroscience grad students coming to Canada! 🇨🇦 Don't miss this incredible opportunity to work with Quinn, a fantastic mentor bridging experimental & theoretical neuroscience ⚡️. #gradschool#research
8 years ago, @sylv_villeneuve & I set out to map how Alzheimer’s pathology affects brain activity. Thrilled to share our first results, showing how Aβ and tau proteins synergistically associate w/ brain neurophys & cog decline, now out in @NatureNeuro I https://t.co/TiwpcladTG
