@JonWales123@GWRHelp Right! So that's what's going on. Makes sense, and, now I know, I'm happy to leave the short formed trains to long distance passengers.
Thanks for putting it clearly.
@GWRHelp Travelling PAD-RDG. Why don't some trains (e.g. 1648, 1700) show as stopping in RDG on the boards at PAD? Your app says they're stopping at RDG. Which is it? Why the confusion?
@GWRHelp So, given that the train still stops at RDG, and uses the same doors and platform, are you saying that AnyTime tix between PAD and RDG are NOT valid on trains that are designated "pick up only" at RDG?
@GWRHelp It clearly does change daily. Perhaps you're managing congestion with all the different length trains that seem to be being swapped around at the moment. I get that. It's still annoying though.
@GWRHelp Hi. Thanks, that's fine, but your app shows them as stopping at RDG, and the RDG departures board shows them, so they clearly DO stop at RDG. Presumably, knowing this, I could still use my AnyTime ticket on them to get off at RDG?
@mattcoyney It could be worse. The YouTubers could be 'singing'.. some is absolutely horrific yet my kids just get cross when I dare suggest their favourite 'star' sounds like a cat being dragged through a mangle backwards.
@meyerjon Some communities more than others, I'd say. But certainly, where previously I could use Twitter alone, now I need to check more platforms to keep up with the same people. Twitter is definitely still active for me, though.
@0x47DF Yes. I have mine connected to a Pi GPI pin, and a bit of software counting pulses. 1 pulse = 1 cu.ft metered.
It's not completely accurate as sometimes I get spurious pulses but that could be the reed, noise or insufficient debouncing. But it's good enough for a chart in HA.
@4catcatcat@dhilowitz This video introduced me to the world of vocaloids, now I'm comparing vocal synths to use Miku and friends in my own compositions. Thanks @dhilowitz !
@neil_neilzone Agree! I've never used the official Twitter app either and the experience has been great. Interesting that there are 3rd party apps for Mastodon too. Thanks for the realisation.
30 years ago this month, Sony launched the #MiniDisc as a potential successor to the Compact Disc. While it never became a mainstream success, a dedicated community continues to keep MD alive. What's your favourite MiniDisc memory? #MiniDisc30
@dhilowitz Hooray! And very well deserved. I really enjoy your "this is broken, let's figure it out and fix it" electronics videos. Inspiring stuff. From one geek to another, thank you.
@alexbloor Being able to get a cheap overnight rate on leccy is the singular reason I have so far encountered as a reason to give in and request a smart meter.
