@smithsmm General question: I teach French. I want students to understand and develop listening and reading comp, speaking skills, before they write presentationally, or “interpersonal” writing and speaking. How would they know what to discover as beginner if I’m not there modeling?

@emmccatt So sad. That teacher did not learn labor laws. Expecting s & t’s to work through lunch is ultimately abusive. Which is why our club meetings are not to happen during lunch. Some do out of necessity, but not encouraged.

@Mr_Minchin Agree. ados (boys, usually) are still experiencing growth spurts, even at 17 and 18. Whether they get enough sleep or not, the biology of the body will shut it down, to grow. Keep this in mind… not always late night texting. other issues cause fatigue. Empathize w/ kids.

@susangbarber Okay, film syllabus is done, and Fr3 is almost done. BTW I write week to week. I don’t write general expectations for the quarter. Takes more time, but it is a road map. Think as expanded curriculum map. Total 5 diff preps. Huzzah

@susangbarber So happy to see a range. I have 5 preps. Ive updated 3syllabi (dates). The other two are a reworking of film, and a FR3 (non pre-AP) with a new TB. Ive been doing workshops, ive messed up my Canvas. But not worried. Back 8/5;students 8/16

@TaraSetmayer Food for thought: I have a small pox vaccine scar. Got it when I was 5, before kindergarten. I’m over 50 y.o. Why do my children not have this? Because it worked, and was taken off list of req vaccines. USA needs to trust education and science.

@TaraSetmayer She doesn’t understand “breakthrough infection”. She could fall ill, expose you, you get non symptomatic ill; and pass it on to a person who truly cannot be vaccinated. Why is this so diff to see and understand? And a lawyer? Logic rules all. You are good 👍

My fav moment in the opening ceremonies: Ireland entered the stadium, and after the team cleared the entry, they stopped, and bowed to the “greeters”. Who were totally wowed!! Nicely done, Ireland! Classy!!
