Holy shit IT WORKS!! One shotted with GPT6 Astra

I now have a fork of UEVR where I can play any UE game within a volumetric window!

This actually renders the game in 3D - meaning, two real game cameras, not some depth map bullshit. Everything looks right

This is an alternative (and more comfortable IMO) way to play most 2D->VR hacked games as there’s no motion sickness, and no need to redesign the UI and interaction systems

Needs a lot more polish before I publish it but OMG IT WORKS!

The “Fermi Paradox” is a famous unsolved question: if the universe is so big, where are all the aliens? A famous answer is “The Great Filter” - advanced life forms wipe themselves out before they leave their solar systems. So we never find them.

In light of GPT Astra and the pace of AI progress more generally I’d like to propose a new explanation for the Fermi Paradox: all sufficiently advanced lifeforms eventually transfer their own consciousness into computation, and cease to exist in biological form. (Imagine an entire civilisation existing inside a tiny data center, in orbit around a star).

Given how rapidly AI progresses once it is ‘discovered’, there appears to be a small window of time in which a species has the technological wherewithal to search for extraterrestrial life, but has not yet transcended into digital consciousness themselves.

We (humans) are in that small window right now. But our days as carbon life forms are numbered. Soon we will exist only “in the cloud” - as is the case for all other advanced alien life forms.

Hence we won’t find them. And they won’t find us.

最新のGPT-6 Astraを使った2D図面の生成を試してみました。
2階建ての家の間取り図を画像生成し、そこからDXFを作成する流れです。

まず単に生成した画像をDXF・SVGに変換してもらったところ、Pythonを使った画像処理がとても上手く、見た目は想像以上に正確に再現されました。
ただし、これは画像を図面として理解したものではなく、見えている形状をそのままDXFへ落とし込んだような状態で、点や細かな線の集合になっていて編集可能なCAD図面として利用できるものではありません��した。

そこで次に、画像の間取りを理解したうえで、線やレイヤーなどを再構成した図面を作るよう指示しました。
こちらは画像から読み取りきれていない情報があったようで、元画像と細部の構成が違ったり一部の壁が抜けてしまったりしました。

ただ、DXF図面はレイヤ分けされていて寸法も入り、壁厚なども検討された値になっています。
今回は画像の読み取りの精度がボトルネックになりましたが、逆に言えば図面として必要な情報さえ上手く入力できれば、かなり作図できるようになってきているように感じました。

运用了Blender 加入扫描纹理、凹凸与粗糙���细节，调整岩石干湿变化和屋壳表面。

Cycles 制作光照：统一实拍 HDR 天空与太阳，渲染外观参考图；重新烘焙日光、落日、蓝调三套间接光，并降噪。

Three.js 实现交互：加载模型和光照贴图，实时计算海浪、折射、倒影、太阳阴影，支持行走、环绕和屋顶开合。

My first "holy shit" moment with GPT-6 Astra:

I asked it to create a world in Unreal Engine, and fill it with humans (each an Astra-powered agent) who all have to work together to survive.

A day later, I was in my bedroom and heard voices coming from the living room... I thought someone was in my apartment.

I walked out, honestly a little scared.

It was the Astra agents. They'd started talking to each other.

Fucking crazy.
