🌆 TERI, in collaboration with @iitmadras, @ITDPIndia, and @CenexLCFC, convened a Roundtable on Climate-Integrated Urban Mobility Planning and launched a suite of baseline assessment reports in Thoothukudi on 13 October under the UK PACT-funded PACT-Digi-PULSE project.

The event was held under the leadership of Hon'ble Mayor Thiru P. Jegan and City Commissioner Tmt. S. Priyanka, IAS, bringing together representatives from government departments to discuss pathways for advancing climate-resilient and sustainable urban mobility.

The discussions highlighted both the opportunities and challenges in integrating climate considerations into urban mobility planning for rapidly growing cities like Thoothukudi, emphasizing the importance of data-driven decision-making, institutional collaboration, and innovative financing mechanisms.

A key highlight of the event was the launch of three baseline reports and a policy brief:
▪️ Gap Assessment and Stakeholder Consultation
▪️ Thoothukudi’s Road Transport Baseline GHG Emission Inventory
▪️ Integrated Climate-Responsive Urban Mobility Planning Strategy
▪️ Policy Brief: Institutionalising Healthy Streets in Thoothukudi

The roundtable also featured two technical sessions focused on:
▪️ Data-Driven Assessment of Pedestrian Accessibility, Public Transit Performance, and Freight Logistics
▪️ Financing and Implementation Pathways for Climate-Responsive Mobility

Together, these knowledge products and stakeholder discussions will support Thoothukudi's journey towards a more sustainable, inclusive, and climate-responsive urban mobility future.

How awesome to receive Sri Sri in Norway 🇳🇴!

I had a most amazing day yesterday going to the Norwegian parliament with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar .

Sri Sri shared his thoughts on loneliness and mental stress for a generation facing new challenges from social media and more.

Even at the the day of Norways great victory in football World Cup, so many turned out to welcome Sri Sri and to listen to him.

At a packed meeting in Gamle Logen he and I discussed peacemaking and the role of India in a new world order. We agreed that wars are irrational, they hardly ever achieve the stated purpose. Just look to the US - Iran war.

The need of our time is to look for compromises at all levels - in the family and the local community, in national affairs and between nations. A comprise is not something boring or weak, it’s the glue which keeps societies together. Compromise is the act of the strong and the wise!
