@FitnessEmpiree 1) get off your phone 2) See a lot of people training triceps then hitting compound push moves / biceps then compound push moves. Don’t.
@turnthenotison I generally like it. It’s very good and like you said has some of his highs. As the hyped album it’s baffling to be a huge last splash. Similarly this double album needed more diverse talent and voices eg Cole carrying all of LEGACY when Ari Lennox would have made this song
@ConceptualJames Chronically online people live each passing moment in anticipation of a memory. A memory to be captured and shared rather than be experienced. This might be the end result in its purest. Horrifying.
Fitness content creators be like “here’s what I buy in Aldi to build muscle”. Let me guess, is it the same fIfTeEn pRodUCTS you would buy in any other Supermarket?
@siteprotagonist But that said it’s fine for everything to not be spoken about all the time. I loved through the box set era and there were always shows like Succession where it
Seemed more hardcore viewers knew and others caught up.
@siteprotagonist That’s because TV and life in general is now an endless scroll. Some stuff hits hard like Succession but the next thing comes along. Also unfortunately a show being dropped on Netflix is the new pop culture and that hasn’t happened.
Not gonna lie. I quit this app for good reasons (recommend) but it didn’t take long to realise that I had no idea what was happening in film and music despite still having IG.
Let this be the year in which you rebuild your attention span. Big Tech wants you unable to focus on anything for longer than a few seconds. Resist the infinite scroll. Avoid short-form videos. Watch movies without being on your phone. Read voraciously and often.
@JustTheWehrst@primarycatdad Doesn’t it just feel worse because we’re now in the super Information Age? We are all hardtapped into the bad news mainframe. Things are bad but no wonder it feels like it’s never been worse. Previous iterations have been easier to isolate and/or ignore.
We're watching TV and movies with people who don't have any critical thinking skills. They come on here and post the most asinine takes. Or miss something that was fundamental cause they were scrolling their phone. As long as they can log it and check it off.
This whole “rapping about rapping” and “they not playin tht in the club” narrative is propagated by passive hip-pop fans who engage w the art form only as far as section music and billboard slop. They have no understanding of the pillars, no concept of the roots or fundamentals.
Why does every cultural institution feel like if you don’t buy a single ticket the house is gonna fall down? Feels like we on the edge of destruction every week. Exhausting.
#JenniferLawrence says #LeonardoDiCaprio would “look great” with a teenage daughter and “loved” seeing him as a dad in “One Battle After Another.”
