One of my favorite parts of hanging out with a group of Latter-day Saints is one person can ask "are we related?" And next thing you know, we all have our Family Search app out finding out how we're related
Edit: link updated.
If you’ve been reading a lot about the “Mormons,” (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), you’ve no doubt read a lot of conflicting information.
If you want to cut through the noise and see what we REALLY preach, how we REALLY live, and who we REALLY worship, you can find that out in your own home with no pressure. You can stream it right into your living room. No one has to know but you.
Join us this weekend for our General Conference, where we get counsel from our leaders every six months. We may also be sustaining a new president/prophet after the death of @NelsonRussellM.
Take an hour.
Take two.
Take the day.
Take the weekend.
But learn for yourself what we believe. Stop letting others do the thinking for you.

@BobSnedeker Oh wow! This talk is perfectly timed for our family! I printed it out to read later. My husband picked it up and read it, then my missionary, then we sent a copy to a friend. This conversation is everywhere and people are craving a good discussion. Thank you!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a mainstream, world-wide religion. Its members live normal lives working normal occupations. They are your neighbors and their children go to school with yours. They believe in Jesus and worship God.
@DeadBug15 Nicholeen Peck has a great book called Teaching Self Government. It offers principled solutions and systems for families. I read it when my kids were young and my adult kids still use what she calls “SODAS” to figure things out. She’s on YouTube also. Good luck!
If you fixate on pointing out faults, weaknesses, & errors, your faith will fade. You’ll end up cutting yourself off from the Lord’s power.
If we lift others, extend grace, & overlook shortcomings - just as we hope others will do for us - God will infuse our lives with joy.
As we enter in this new year, let us prepare for an Easter celebration of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ culminating in His Resurrection—the most glorious event in history—and contemplate our own future resurrection.
How grateful I am for the profound meaning of the universal Resurrection, which is made possible by the great plan and the boundless love of God the Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. #GreaterLove
I recently read about man who collects pictures of hitters who had hit walk-off home runs. He said that the reason he did this is because this is how he views us entering heaven.
Look at the faces of his teammates waiting to welcome him home. Look at their excitement. They can’t wait to celebrate with him.
Look at the fans. Arms raised, big smiles, maybe even hugs for a perfect stranger.
Perhaps this is your first holiday season without someone important who is now waiting for you in heaven. Maybe it’s just another one with that big hole in your heart and an empty seat at the table. Either way, I hope you can find encouragement in this picture, what it represented to the man who collected it, and find joy this year. #heaven #hope #joy #grief
"They've reduced His righteousness to mere prudishness, His justice to mere anger, His mercy to mere permissiveness. We must not be guilty of such simplistic versions that conveniently ignore teachings we find uncomfortable." - President Jeffrey R. Holland
