If I need to get away from things, I go to a motorway service station. Everybody is self-interested. Nobody cares what you're up to, to the point where you're invisible. There's just something funny about these tiny islands of hyper-busy civilisation, in the middle of nowhere.
@OpenBritainHQ Personalities shouldn't be the basis for a vote, if people want the policy, candidate wouldn't matter. Reform tactics from Burnham thinking he can take votes for granted in pursuit of personal gain. Voted for him twice and expected more. Lose-lose for us in Gr Manchester
Burnham knew full well he would be blocked, so it was basically a stunt to try and destabilise his own party’s government.
You’d think having watched Tory after Tory do this for years he’d know better.
These are serious times that demand serious people.
I’ve always liked @AndyBurnhamGM but the prospect of him returning to Westminster has already added to inward-looking psychodrama that does no one any good. And an unnecessary by-election for Mayor of Manchester might well have resulted in long term damage to his reputation too.
Lot of people worried about going to the World Cup in America now but as long as you don’t do anything completely crazy like help a woman up who’s been pushed over then you have nothing to worry about and hopefully won’t be executed in the street. Enjoy it! ⚽️
Phrase of the Day: KAMA MUTA (from Sanskrit, literally ‘moved by love’ ) - a strong, positive emotion caused by shared experiences of love or community - eg, when you first hold a newborn baby or cry at a live music event.
@unitedutilities No need, I've been assured that it was fixed. But then that works were ongoing. And most recently that there was no issue and I should have always had water. What a relief to know I'd imagined the whole thing.
@unitedutilities No water supply for 43+hrs and no response to messages or communication of any kind - can we have some alternative sources please? Or just a message? Anything? @RLong_Bailey@SalfordCouncil
Hello @BBCNews,
Are you just going to pretend that this didn't happen?
Propaganda by omission, once again.

Yesterday I received one of the highest and most ancient honors in London, the Freedom of the City. But the celebration soured into an experience of indignity when upon arriving, I found that there was no ramp for me to access the stage.
