The @Scaniverse app is one of the best mobile solutions to generate #GaussianSplatting, and it just got better. Here are some facts 👇

The 2 scans you see were captured in (almost) the same moment using:
- The app on Android that performed the reconstruction on mobile in around 30 min (on the left)
- The app on iOS uploads the footage to the cloud for reconstruction.

This is a brand new capability recently included by the team

Both scenes came up quite well despite the bright light conditions.
- Local (Android): Around 360K splats
- Cloud (iOS): Around 1M splats

If you haven't tried it yet, I strongly suggest you give it a shot.

This experiment is part of a broader testing to see the current state of cloud solutions for the reconstruction of 3DGS.
