Dual Citizenship Among Presidential Candidates Raises Sovereignty Concerns.
Most of the candidates vying for the presidency of Somalia hold dual citizenship from foreign nations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Kenya.
According to Article 106, paragraph K of the new Constitution, any candidate who possesses another nationality must renounce it upon winning the presidency.
However, a fact-finding report by Mustaqbal Media reveals that a staggering 88% of the current presidential candidates hold foreign citizenships.
This situation raises serious questions about national sovereignty, loyalty, and the integrity of the presidential election process.
We call on the relevant authorities to enforce the constitutional provision strictly and ensure that no candidate with divided national allegiance takes office without fully renouncing any foreign nationality.

Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni spent two days in Tel Aviv, Israel, on June 3 and June 4 before returning to Abu Dhabi, according to information that has been confirmed by sources familiar with the trip.
The visit reportedly began with Deni traveling from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv, where he remained for two days. Following the visit, he returned to Abu Dhabi.
No official statement has been issued publicly regarding the purpose of the trip, the meetings held during the visit, or the individuals and officials involved.
The visit comes at a time of heightened political attention across the region, where foreign engagements by senior Somali political figures continue to attract public and media scrutiny.
Further details about the agenda, outcomes, and significance of the visit have not yet been made public.
This is a developing story and additional information may emerge in the coming days.
The Chairman of the Somali Petroleum Authority, Abdulqadir Adan Mahmoud, today inspected the section of the Port of Mogadishu designated to support the vessel conducting Somalia’s oil drilling operations. During the visit, he provided details about the ongoing work and the progress of the project.
NEW: "Birmad" (Rapid Strike) forces, who recently completed their training in Carmo, Puntland have blocked the main road in the center of the capital, Garowe, in protest over unpaid salaries. Heavy gunfire is currently being reported across the city. These are the very forces that Said Deni (President of Puntland) previously boasted about, claiming they would breach people's homes. Today, left without their due rights, they are causing chaos throughout the entire capital.

Former President Farmaajo, what exactly does he mean when he says, “Hassan lacks confidence and cannot compete with us?”
Hasn’t Hassan competed against him twice, in 2012 and 2022, and beaten him both times?
Why did Farmaajo choose this particular line instead of finding a more effective argument that could actually strengthen his case?
How do you call a man cowardly and lacking confidence when he competed against you twice and defeated you both times?
In 2012, Farmaajo received just 14 votes, while HSM received 190 votes and won the presidency.
Then again in 2022, while Farmaajo secured 59 votes in the first round and HSM received 52, HSM remained in the race, matched Farmaajo step for step, peeled away crucial support, and ultimately defeated him with 214 votes, while Farmaajo failed to surpass 110 votes, losing the presidency once again.
After two direct electoral victories over Farmaajo, the claim that HSM lacks confidence or is afraid to compete seems like a strange line of attack.
Wouldn’t it have been more effective to criticize HSM over his actual weaknesses, policy failures, or political mistakes instead?
Accidental President Farmajo is not known for being a talented public speaker, but this was the worst speech in his already poor track record.
It will not only add to the negative legacy of his administration but also further reinforce that unfavorable history.
@SomaliGuardian That Qurun teacher that start his career as a terrorist but end up to become transitional president and now warlord.
That is also tragic misfortune for our nation.
Puntland Garowe : The auxiliary/support forces who mutinied this morning and left the 54th Military Camp have blocked the main road that serves as a vital artery of the city, particularly the section between the General Hospital and the Central Police Station. @HESaidADeni
