@JakeGoodmanMD Thanks for your courage! This needs to be talked about more - I’m so glad to see that you’re using your platform to bring this to the forefront. Stay strong 💪🏻
A new first for me in academia - This paper rejection email has me feeling like I let reviewer 2 down… The emotional roller coaster of reading a review that starts with “thrilled” only to have it finish with “disappointing” cannot be understated! #AcademicTwitter#MedTwitter
If you drink at a bar or restaurant then you’re using a supervised consumption site (SCS). Luckily you are also accessing a safe, regulated supply. Don’t point fingers at people who use their drugs at the other one. Alcohol is a drug too. Normalize SCS. #EndStigma#harmreduction
Saturday was quite the day! Over 200km of cycling in @TheTourAlberta and over $2000 raised for @albertacancer. Thanks to everyone who donated #TourAlberta

But, is this really Canada?
Residential schools. The Sixties Scoop. Missing and Murdered Women, Girls & 2-Spirit People. First Nations water advisories. Disproportionate representation in prisons & jails. Stolen land. Systemic anti-Indigenous racism.
Yes, this is really Canada.
I join the Canadian Bishops and the whole Catholic Church in Canada in expressing my closeness to the Canadian people, who have been traumatised by shocking discovery of the remains of two hundred and fifteen children, pupils at the Kamloops Indian Residential School.
It's also mind blowing that people who consume substances up in the sky while *violating* provincial regulations can close life-saving consumption sites at ground level that *meet* federal regulations. #SupportSCS
If Canada cares, we’ll lower our flags. We’ll have a national week of mourning. We’ll stop fighting Residential School Survivors in court. We’ll act on Truth & Reconciliation.
If Canada cares, we’ll accept this genocide isn’t just our past, but our present too.
#215children
215 Indigenous children found dead.
215 reasons to learn about residential schools.
215 reasons to reflect on Canada's blood stained colonial past.
215 reasons to face this country's role in genocide.
An infinite number of reasons why an entire country should be grieving.
Well, that’s a wrap! Today, I taught the last virtual group exercise class for my #feasibility study on home #exercise in #myeloma - my primary thesis study. Going to miss teaching from my little home studio/gym. Now onto writing!!!
“A new cost-benefit study in New Zealand finds that investments in cycling & walking facilities outweigh the costs of building them by 10 to 1. The research found that the most important economic benefits were health gains from use of active transport.” https://t.co/JEGofP4vAj
