I think this is what most likely happened.

Racicot had an unpleasant sexual experience with Platner. She didn't conceptualize it as "rape" or consider it traumatic.

He was uninterested in seeing her anymore. The incident gradually grew in importance in her mind. As more allegations came out against Platner, and she saw an opportunity to get revenge on him and get on TV, the incident became worse and worse over time in her head.

We see this clearly in the trajectory of her behavior. No contemporary evidence from 2021, as she claims she conveniently deleted all the evidence. Then she had mixed reviews of her relationship with Platner in 2023. Then in 2026, she was supposedly raped in the midst of Platner becoming a celebrity and facing other accusations.

This is why you shouldn't get to make accusations years after the fact. You go to the police or you don't. Human memory is too frail to trust years after an event, and we can't give women the power to say whatever they want at any point and ruin a man's life without presenting real evidence.
