Two things have been very true for the last few years:

1. The Steelers' defensive scheme has stunk—outdated, simple, and easy to beat.

2. Joey Porter Jr. has been a lockdown corner, playing far better than any other corner they have had at their disposal.

Does he have awards? No.

Does he have a plethora of interceptions? No.

Should that be the defining factor of his payday? Absolutely not.

He is a guy who has been a staple of the defensive identity for the last few years. He is a guy who has gotten progressively better year over year. One touchdown allowed in his career. He is the kind of guy you pay whatever number makes him happy and gets the deal done.

Get it done, @steelers. Don't make this mistake AGAIN.

Maybe culture has passed me by, but I don’t understand today’s ESPN. As a kid, I had ESPN/ESPNNews on nonstop because they had nonstop sports highlights/news and sports are awesome. Who decided people prefer “hot takes” shouting clowns over… sports?
