❌The very idea of splitting up the presidency of the European Council is faulty at multiple levels:

- legally: it goes against the Treaties which already split it into 2 mandates of 2.5 year each;

- institutionally: it makes the #EUCO presidency even less relevant than today, by de facto turning it into yet another rotating position (14 months vs 6):

- politically: it’s a slippery slope towards splitting also the Commission’s mandate thus further politicizing the only institution tasked to pursue the EU general interest

EUCO is asking the wrong questions, and inevitably providing the wrong answers
