@ekwufinance Someone said the same thing happened with the 1973 opec oil embargo. Stock market wasn’t affected right away, but once it hit the markets, didn’t recover for 10 years.
@DougJBalloon@MichaelEMann I hope the old producer, on screen talent, and staff form up elsewhere and kill CBS / paramount’s ratings with the new show.
@drantbradley Lots of reasons but also admin decisions on fed research funding, federal loan access, and declining international student visas all in a couple of years.
@Aviation_Intel $1.2 T plus the inevitable cost overruns and increased sustainability costs easily $2+ T ( and I’m being kind) . And what’s the chance it actually works as intended or won’t be defeated by a $10k drones?
@Eric_Erins There were sites at Montrose Beach , Belmont Harbor, Jackson Park, Vernon Hills; over 20 sites in the area. Most of the missile sites had fuel tanks and missiles stored underground. Dismantled in the late 1960’s , I think.
@chicagobars Generally very reasonable pricing when you cross the cheddar divide. GB on game day, Madison and Milwaukee proper have some exceptions, though.
@nicolegelinas Grade separation is very expensive and Florida ( I bet) isn’t used to doing them. Places like IL and NY, which have a lot of them and have laws/ regs favorable to rail still takes years of planning and $$$.
@atrupar The idea of an outline for a deal that will become a possible thought for a deal on Friday only to fall apart on Monday. With perfect secret trades that net 9 figures.
@other_st_nick@EddyVGG I don’t know as much about NYC, but chicago consolidated in part for infrastructure; roads, water and sewer issues drove much of it.
@MuseZack Agree and it’s a forgotten point. Only 3 of the fleet carriers were ordered after Pearl Harbor were completed and only 2 fought in any battles. Also, most of the aircraft designs used were in development by summer 1940, including all the bigger planes.
@GasBuddyGuy I can’t believe the airlines didn’t hedge fuel more. I get it’s a cost, but the exposure to events like this ( especially because the admin seemed like they might do this) seems too high not to.
@CaptBob_Nomadic 💯. The problem is this requires regulation and diplomacy ( it would have to be through like ITU or jointly by aviation administrations) and would have to regulate the fees if privately owned.
@north0fnorth It really revitalized the south loop + even though it went way over budget and concerns on lack of harmony between the bandshell, bean, and garden areas ( at the time) , it’s a huge Mayor Daley legacy.
